Re: worst season since 2000
Personally I don't give a rats about this year!! I survived the 80s and nothing will compare to that. I am willing to sit back and watch the young guys develop and if we ar$e a few wins then I will celebrate like I did when we won one, late in the season down at Moorabbin. Let's enjoy it for what it...

Re: 2009 Season was over rated
OP has a point, I have applied his logic to 1966 and it appears that season was also overrated, lucky to win by a point!

Re: Free Kick Count up to round 11
Sometimes you can win the tackle count because you are second to the ball. However, there were some howlers given to the Wet Toast especially Dempsters tackle on Priddis, no way that should have been given. Also in the 1st quarter Roos tackle which forced the Wet Toast defender to drop the ball was ...

I was at the game and we dominated in patches but couldn't translate it on the scoreboard. Was very happy with the effort overall and the progress of our youngsters!

Yes but they could have won 6, lost close ones to Geelong and Adelaide after leading by 4-5 goals. North and Saints are moving in different directions.plugger66 wrote:Hughjarce wrote:Also it has to be remembered that North are a v good side and are pressing for the 8.
They have won 3 games.

Re: World of hurt coming our way....
I am scared at what the Hawks will do to us on this current form. This year will get ugly on occasions however, by the end we will be in a better position to determine: 1. which of our young guys will make the grade 2. which of our older players should retire 3. who can we trade for draft picks All ...

Re: Saints vs North - Match Thread
Ferguson is nowhere near the level. Embarrassingly slow when he gets the ball Lets pick him out. how is the AA Sam Fisher going? People blem the backline when heaps of goals are kicked. Look where it starts and thats in the middle. Both correct. Ferguson is looking like the next Raph Clarke. And ou...

Re: Saints vs North - Match Thread
We will not get consistency out of our young players. Some weeks they will look great and other weeks out of their league. At least well will eventually get improvement out of them. Our older players (with the exception of Roo) will not get any better, in fact they are getting worse!!. Relax this wi...

Re: Saints vs North - Match Thread
The biggest problem with some of our supporters is that they had unrealistic expectations where we will finish this year. With an ageing list combined with inadequate recruiting over the past 6 or so years we must rebuild and persist with our young players. Remember what 1999 to 2002 was like? Mayb...

We will definitely look at him at this years draft, unfortunately he will come with a high price tag (top 20 at least).

Relax, Watters can plan and set structures all night long but in the end its up to the players and unfortunately a large majority of our midfield lack the necessary skills to execute these plans.

Completely agree we turned the ball over at crucial occasions that cost us dearly. Maisters dropped mark was an example when we had the chance to take the lead!!!!
Gilbert and Jones really try hard but occasionally their disposal can be terrible.

Why is he a troll for stating a fact? We are entering a rebuilding phase without bottoming out completely, therefore you cannot reasonably expect us to play finals over the next few years at the very least.Buckets wrote:Go follow Freo troll.clarky449 wrote:Whats worse, no finals for atlast 3-5 years.

Its been the same all season, when it gets close our skills let us down. We just can't hold our composure under pressure. I wouldn't stress too much we are exactly where we deserve to be.

Re: So what did we think of Gwilt's game?
Once the pain of defeat dissipates, we can analyse individual performances without any emotion. Gwilt's game must be viewed in the context that he will be about 4-6 weeks off his best. Unfortunately for us we don't have many options with injuries. Clarke is pushing for selection however, he is the w...
