Re: Good kids on our list now are...
Every year people say the youngsters "look likely" or "show plenty" and they maintain that line until they invariably get delisted. The truth is that for this group we're not going to know, realistically, how good any of them are for another few seasons. There's no standouts on t...

I don't get why the club doesn't sell long sleeve jumpers

Not sure Roberton (or Hickey) should be eligible for such an award, as they've spent years playing for another team.

Re: Freo brought the game into disrepute and must be sanctio
The only difference between yesterday and when we did it against Hawthorn is that our reserves side was still good enough to win :D Sides should be free to rest whoever they want. It's not great for spectators because they want to see the best talent on the field at all times, but it's a professiona...

Re: What a great day
It looked like a great day on from the TV coverage. Almost a festival atmosphere, or a carnival atmosphere. It was awesome to just see the guys enjoying their footy for the first time in... 8 years? I haven't seen that sort of enjoyment since around 2004-05 where the guys were winning and having fun...

Not everyone can stay, and unfortunately I don't think he's done enough to hold on to a spot.

Re: Tom Lee
Would like to see Lee play out of the goal square with Riewoldt at CHF next year. It looks like Lee's leading is not great at the moment (unless he has a lot of space), but he seems to be a reasonable contested mark. So letting him roam around the 20m arc while Riewoldt plays more around 30-50 (and ...

I also didn't think the fall would be so sudden, but I don't think it was manufactured. I think we just finally hit the wall; after climbing the mountain twice plus losing some good players in the last few years plus all of our stars being around 30 or older, it all just caught up to us. I don't thi...

Re: Goddard still a Saint at heart?
The club did the wrong thing by Goddard. By all accounts, it was the 4th year that was the point of contention and not the dollar value of the contract.Hurricane wrote:He can be a Saint at heart but he sold his soul to the devil for some coin.
F*** him

I don't think there's been a position you haven't played in at some point during your career at St Kilda! It's a testament to your ability that you are so versatile and competent in whatever role you are asked to perform. It's been a pleasure to watch you take the field over the last 14 seasons.

Re: Leave your tributes here for Kosi - to be printed
You're a star Kosi. You've been an integral part of some amazing forward lines over the years... combinations of yourself, Riewoldt, Milne, Gehrig. On our day, we were unstoppable. Congratulations on your 200 games, each of them are richly deserved. It won't be the same knowing that we'll never see ...

A few sentences is not enough to describe what you've given to the St Kilda Football Club. Thank you so much for so many years of enjoyment and commitment. You fully deserve your place in history as the best forward pocket to play the game. I'd also like to nominate the posts in http://www.saintsati...

I have also enjoyed reading every word of that milney044, and I agree with every word you wrote. Great post. Re: Best Milne memories
In 2001 against Hawthorn he had 2 players against him and the ball was kicked in the air towards him. He jumped and outmaneuvered the first players under the ball, and tapped it to his advantage away from the other player and snapped across his body for the goal Yeah, that's vintage Milne isn't it....

I'll get the ball rolling... that awesome 11 goal haul against Brisbane in 2005. 11 goals straight, no less :D I'll always have fond memories of his trademark "slipping over, run around, goal" - although the slipping over aspect was more of an early 00's thing! In the really early 00's he ...

Great news that Hayes is playing on; he's definitely got more to offer going forward. We need his experience and footy smarts to help with the on field development of the up and coming players.

Any current AFL players have kicked over 10 goals in a game?
Obviously Milne has, I think 11 vs Brisbane in 2005?
He must be in elite company at the moment; who else that is currently playing has hit double digits?
