Re: Met a family member of an old Saint champion
Nice one Loris. And George Young was a hellava player. Very good cricketer too. Yes he made a century for WA I think? Did he play grade cricket for Subiaco? He played WAFL for them. Also Bruce Duperouzel (? Spelling) also represented WA in cricket. Don’t suppose you played cricket with either or ag...

Re: Still angry
Our confidence evaporated in the week of Sledgegate. Haven't been the same since. We don't handle a crisis well. History proves it. Hopefully something galvanises us in coming weeks and we do ourselves justice.

Re: The effect of "Sledgegate"
I'm not saying it is the main factor for our slump, but that it is a contributing factor. You only have to have a 5% drop off in intensity and effort in this competition, not fall a long way. I've seen things like this have a detrimental effect in the past. It's an unecessary distraction in a game t...

Re: Visiting St Kilda, Scotland?
We went last year. June I think. We went on a fairly large boat, and the weather was ok. We were on the Hebridean Princess as part of a longer journey. Not cheap! We all got a bit seasick going out, including most of the crew! We met some others there who had gone on smaller boats and taken longer j...

Anything is possible. Of the unsung guys I like Membrey. Dangerous guy as third forward if Paddy can stay on the park. White is going to be an interesting player. McKenzie with a bit more luck, and growing maturity, is going to be a very good player. Further improvement from Ross, Newnes and Weller....

He didn't hurt anyone....didn't send a picture of his tackle. Didn't take drugs. A few beers after a solid week of training. No worries whatsoever.

If it's AFL connections, I didn't go to school with them, but I played cricket in the same team. James Brayshaw, Karl Langdon and Don Pyke. And I was captain if you can believe that. During my Perth stint in the late eighties.

Paige is ok. One eyed Pies fan of course. When Nathan Freeman came to us she very quickly pointed out that Collingwood had completely mucked up his rehab, and been difficult to him. She wished him all the best and could completely understand why he was leaving. Her view on Brown would be quite genui...

I clearly remember Pelchen in the box. He was apparently helping out with midfield rotations because we were short-staffed(!). He denied at the time that he was interfering or doing anything tactically. 'Just helping out' is what I recall. Finey had gone on a great rant on SEN just after the previou...

The Bont is a terrific player no doubt. But the drafting can be swings and roundabouts. If a few redrafts were done up the order would go Steven 42, Newnes 37, Acres 19, Ross 25, We used to come out badly when these exercises were done, but our picks have been way better lately. Add in the trades fo...

Re: "Peanuts, shilling a bag - peanuts!"
I remember that guy well. I have a vivid memory of him certainly at the MCG. My Dad used to tell a story about me as a kid. I have always remembered things in years for some reason. So in probably 1966 at the G the peanut bloke came around selling his stuff. I apparently said...'Hey Dad, can we have...
