Re: Liam Henry

Billings and a pick in the 50's hopefully

It would be great to keep our first 2 draft picks.

If he chose us, Freos negotiating power is limited

Re: Owens. has an 11 gamer played a better game?

Dean Greig was mature age on debut. But it was a great game and we hammered Carlton. Rob Harvey had a coming out party against Melbourne at the G in late '89. Winmar played FF and was awesome. Even Ben Ingleton played well that day. It was before I was born, but Big Carl's debut must be the best. Mi...

Mr Merrick was my sports teacher for 5 years. He is a top bloke and doesn't take any nonsense. He was well respected by all of us.

Re: Training Friday January 14th

I have absolutely zero inside information, but from the outside looking in and based on what has happened numerous times prior to NFL drafts, I think it is possible that Windhager's back injury was fully or partially a fabrication, a story propagated by the saints or their proxies leading up to the ...

Plugger is raising money to help researchers find a cure for cancer.
He doesn't have cancer himself.

Re: Why did we drop Tim Allen at the end of ‘92

There were rumors that he was a bit too much Bob Marley, if you know what I mean.

He had a lot of skill and class

Re: Where was the 300th for ....

I was at Barry's game.

It was at Moorabbin vs Bulldogs.

It was a big deal as he was the first Saint to 300, although he was well past it.

We won, thanks to Robbie Mace who kicked 6 or 7. I think he wore number 60 for a lot of the game.

Don't what he'd learn at the Browns. They are a complete basket case of a franchise, going through coaches, associated staff and scouts like nobody's business.
Harvard will be good though.

Agreed. Master of the turnover.
We used to call him 'double agent'.

Played in the famous win at Victoria Park in '93.

Welcome back. Looks like he can help.

We will be there. Hopefully around 10 of us.
We were there in round 1 2 years ago.
No great expectations for this year.
My all time interstate record is 0-5.

Re: what do we have of trade value?

If we want extra first round picks there is only one way we will get them without trading armo or steven. I have a hunch that we will trade pick 1. We should get a top 10 (if not top 5) and top 20 this year and the trading partner should also give us their first rounder for next year. Look at the NF...

Re: Dawson or Delaney?

I met Dawson once at a Saints function. Friendly but a real dimwit, he basically told me about his lack of contract negotiations and that he would probably leave - and I had just met him.
Delaney by a mile. Will only get better. Just needs more confidence in his kicking

Re: Cult heroes

Some players who deserve a special mention: Craig O'Brien - Underated nuggety forward who saw the light after being traded out of Windy Hill. A master of striking first and then receiving the free after the ump spotted his opponent retaliating. Held up our forward line after Lockett left. Still dirt...

Re: The Carlton Rejects of the 80's

How about that gun Sharp and Mark Buckley? We were stiff not to get Marchesani too. Basically each club had 2 (or 3) form four contracts which could be used to sign interstate players. We generally could not afford to do so, hence we would give ours to Carlton for their fringe players. Didn't matter...
