Re: Oh when the crows go marching in!
I was delighted seeing the Crows beaten and beaten well....As far as old memories are concerned we should hate the (Brisbane) Lions for our loss to back in 1913.

Does Dr Spaceman count as a somebody ? I also went to Bentleigh West Primary 1963-1969. I went to Bentleigh West Primary 1967 to 1968 when we transferred to Melbourne from Brisbane. I've loved the Saints ever since and have never stopped following them.We transferred to Sydney in 1969.I never went ...

Re: Rod Owen Story
Thanks Dave McNamara for the detailed reply. I may be of similar vintage to you! I lived on Centre Rd at East Bentleigh after moving from Brisbane in 1967. Doc was my hero and I used to run out onto Moorabbin at the start of the game in those days. I also saw the '68 1st Semi against Geelong (Docs l...

Re: Rod Owen Story
Question Dave McNamara, if Gellie and Duper were a couple of the best rovers you've seen (and I agrre they were great rovers)
how do you rate Ross Smith, also another great rover? Not having a go at you, just interested in your thoughts as an obvious long
time sainter fan

You keep visiting SS and reading opinions you don't like or agree with but you
read them anyway because they are fellow Saints Supporters!

The problem is we have several players in the same number and other numbers without deserving players. #10 at the Saints is a good example Bill Mohr Neil Roberts Big Carl Spider Bill Mohr was an outstanding Full Forward in a very poor Saints teams in the 1920's and 1930's and was easily out best ful...

We all tend to rate the players we have seen, but way before I was born the Saints had a player called Harold Bray. In the late 1940's and early 1950's Bray was third in the Brownlow and 2nd a further 2 times. On one occasion he missed out by 2 votes. Naturally he was part of an ordinary Saints team...

As footy fans we all know anything is possible. High flyers can be beaten and underdogs can win. The only way to ensure a flag is to be in the Grand Final, and be in front at the end. Don't have to be the best team all year, just the best team on the day (Hawthorn 2008) or have a bit of luck and hel...

Thanks pluuger66 and Go Sainters Go for your replies. We planned this trip earlier this year, when Hawthorn were not playing to well, we thought it was the pick of the games we could get to,taking into account our other commitments for work, family etc... Hawthorn are going all right now,but I suppose...
