Re: Are the Saints finished this trade period?
I really hope this works out - we're looking a bit like a graveyard for banged up rejects! Well, if it makes you feel a little more positive at least they were both required players who requested trades, so banged up maybe, but hardly 'rejects'. Speaking of rejects however...I wouldn't be surprised...

Re: Jaxons come on down
We were a poor inside midfield team. This idea of Rocky being no good has me puzzled. He's a tall ball magnet that's averaged between 7 and 10 tackles the last 3 years not to mention he can kick goals if he gets the opportunity to play forward. Look at the way the Dogs shocked teams through the fina...

Re: Robbo was cool under pressure
I think one of the major things to take out of the last two games is how well the backline has held up without Dempster, Fisher and Lee. Delaney has played well and Roberton has really stepped up. Not sure why Lee gains a mention, but the backups have backed up - very pleased. Sorry should have bee...

Re: Jade Gresham he's ok
Jades handpassing and vision in the contest is unbelieveable. Against Carlton he threaded a handpass out of the scrum through 3 players to a player running on the outside. He hit another one last night as well. Combine that vision with his ability to baulk and change direction... the kid could be el...

Re: Carlisle "scandal"
I know of at least one Saints player who will be wrapt that he is down at the Saints. They may have a few things in common. Really guys, if you knew how many footballers including current Saints have take recreation drugs you would be surprised. Not too many stupid enough to have it on video though...

Re: Carlisle "scandal"
Considering the footage was offered to all the news channels and ACA was the one that paid I wouldn't be too concerned. Seriously who cares? And who cares about Neil Mitchell, he's a talk back host...on a am channel? I fail to see how he and especially his opinion hold any weight today, he's a relic...

Re: Jake Carlisle
Also depends how highly they value Carlisle. It took 17+37 for Ryder who's 4 years older. Would you trade either of those ruckman plus the pick?.. I would The difference is that Ryder was contracted. Carlisle is out of contract & seemingly desperate to get out of Essendon. I wouldn't trade eith...

Re: Jake Carlisle
Would pick 25 + Pierce get it done? For the record I rate Pierce. Hed get games at Essendon. Who knows. I think with the new trade rules for draft picks clubs will have to start looking at the draft ahead as well. Say next year is projected as a weak draft where it drops off a cliff after the first...

Re: Jake Carlisle
Something else to consider is that the Swans, Hawks and Eagles have all got by with small mobile backlines. Mobility seems to be the key. If you are big and mobile well better I suppose. All of them have players who can spoil and then counter-attack. Freo have McPharlin, Johnson and Dawson but John...

Re: Jake Carlisle
I wouldnt say no to Carlisle - but Essendon would want a pound of flesh. Using pick 5 on Carlisle when we just just drafted Goddard and when our midfield is the worst in the AFL concerns me somewhat. And I agree with you here. I guess if this is a legitimate option the club needs to weigh up what's...

Re: Jake Carlisle
Our position here should be strong and simple. We would like him but don't need to get a defender yet, here's our third round pick Final offer While I understand what you're saying at what point do we decide we need a defender? And who says that defender is available at that point? We can't rely on...

Re: HARLEY BENNELL
Agree with others suggesting it wont happen! He is contracted and unless he is completely damaged goods there is no way the Suns release him after all they have been thru! Barrett was just creating fodder for the media train -move on people to more realistic targets! After the story hit there was m...

Re: HARLEY BENNELL
Apparently there is a potential exodus with lots of players ready to cut and run because of the way Eade coaches and the new tightened up off field expectations. It means a few will leave and Eade claims they are rebuilding. Can they claim they're rebuilding? AFL surely pressuring the Suns to succe...

Backline
Interested to hear peoples thoughts on what our ideal backline looks like. I think we're at an intersection where they need to decide whether it's worth persisting with a guy like Chips (who made some poor decisions today, had no touch on his man when the ball was coming in) or whether they bring ba...
