Re: Paddy
Sounds like the club are feeding the media tripe again? If you read what WW has provided there is scientific evidence indicating that diabetes does heighten the affects of head knocks/concussion. Truly concerning that it may cause the premature end to another players career? McCartin suffers no lin...

Re: Paddy
Helmets and head gear offer no help with concussion. Helps with facial injuries. Brain bouncing around inside the scull is the problem. There are prototype NFL helmets that are said to absorb the impact of a hit to the head, protecting the brain from "bouncing" as you say...though I doubt...

Re: Paddy
Can it be something to do with his diabetes by any chance? Maybe he gets tired and more open to big hits? They are much tougher on the concussion stuff these days too - you have to pass complicated tests. If Jonno Brown was playing now you wonder if he would be stopped from playing with concussion ...

Re: Paddy
While what you're saying is true, that the hits can't be helped in some situations (such as today's incident), it seems that anytime he gets *any* contact to the head, it results in concussion (or at least concussion-like symptoms). I'm not a doctor but that is incredibly concerning and you have to ...

Re: McCartin - The biggest recruiting disaster of all time
I think McCartin will be a gun- if he can stay healthy. I am incredibly concerned that this is his 4th concussion since late 2014 (especially in the wake of Justin Clarke's retirement at age 22 and Maguire's retirement last year). A lot was made during the game about his diabetes, and while he had c...

NAB Game vs Melbourne Ticketing
Hi there,
Just wondering, what access do Members get in regards to seating on Sunday? I know you can upgrade and pay for a reserved seat- was just wondering what is considered general admission and if any part of Level 1 is available to members without upgrading?
Thanks

We are currently 4th on the VFL ladder, Collingwood are 5th. Remember also that the conditions are horrendous and our VFL side is very top heavy.

Re: VFL Rd 12 Sandringham Vs Collingwood
I think the main difference (aside from talent) is the speed of the game. What always kept Jones from being a genuine A-grader at AFL level was his decision making and disposal. In the VFL he has more time to think and, as a result, is more efficient with his ball use. Would have to be leading the L...

Re: If we win...how do the non-tankers celebrate?
I'm surprised Essendon haven't petitioned the AFL so they can have a banner for Jobe's 200th. Would be typical of them.

Re: Poll - Do you want us to beat Essendon?
Seriously, I don't care how many games we win this year...as long we we win this one. After the loss in Rd 5 and all of Hird's "woe is me" garbage last week- and, let's be honest, every other week before that- I want to THRASH THEM. Would love to be the team that gets Hirdy sacked...(thoug...

I want to win but I really, really don't think we will. We embarrassed them last time- they'll be out for blood.
If we lose, I'm happy to pretend we were tanking for draft picks however

Why didn't GWS take Bontempelli (#4) or even Billings (#3) with either pick 1 or 2 instead of Tom Boyd (#1, GONE) and Josh Kelly (#2) in 2013? Why didn't GWS or Melbourne take one of Jake Stringer (#5) or Ollie Wines (#7) instead of Whitfield (#1), O'Rourke (#2, GONE), Plowman (#3), Toumpas (#4) wit...

Re: H.Goddard as 3rd Tall Forward/Relieving Ruck?
What impressed me most about his work up forward was his contested marking. He is great overhead and in contested situations. His kicking for goal wasn't great (he should've ended up with, at least, 3 goals- all of his misses were very gettable) but I think the forward line experiment worked. Looks ...

Re: VFL Rd 9 Sandringham Vs Port melbourne
Was at the game today and Paddy definitely looked concussed again as he came off- was very wobbly and bleeding from the head again (might have just opened up the stitches from two weeks ago). I asked Justin Cooper (who is the VFL Reporter for Saints.com.au) on Twitter about whether Paddy was concuss...

Out: Shenton, Hickey, Acres, Sinclair/Schneider (depending on who they decide to RL- most likely Sinclair) In: Weller, Goddard, McKenzie, Dunstan I don't think they should drop Acres- I just have a feeling they will. Unlike Billings and Dunstan, the coaches (for whatever reason) don't yet see him as...

Thanks Sainter_Dad - just replied and they're yours
Not sure what the issue was. They are excellent seats- we sat in a similar place, near the Saints bench, for the WB game earlier this year and it was a lot of fun (with the players walking up and down). Great atmosphere in Row A
