Re: Game Plan Exposed
yep..... good summary . Ratten now needs to get his head down and arse up Don't think it'll happen. He hasn't made any positive changes to the game plan this season, and the knock on his Carlton teams of a decade ago were that they were too one-dimensional and downhill skiers. Seems familiar.

Re: So what is our game plan
Our "game plan" seems pretty elementary. Basically kick it long to a contest and hope it spills favourably for one of the smalls. Nothing too precise or tactical about it. The worst thing is that when we face a team (like Melbourne) with above average intercept marks, we don't have a plan B

Re: Jake Carlisle's Luck
I'm hoping he gets named but not holding my breath.
He doesn't seem to be held in high regard by the coaches for some reason.
Remember the WCE game when we went in with a criminally undersized defence and got beaten? I'm sensing something similar happening this week.

I don't think he's a walk up start, and should probably hand over the captaincy too.

Re: Changes for the Second Semi Final against Richmond Tigers
Confirmed. Battle Marsh and Savage In. I wonder if that means Battle will have to play backline on either Riewoldt or Lynch? Or will Coffield get one of them? We could do with Josh up forward As I said yesterday, much more likely that Marsh will play back on Riewoldt. This will allow Coff to play h...

Re: Metricon, its dimensions, the dew and weather.
I don't think it's going to be dewy.
Weather forecast for Friday says dew point will be 18 degrees, and it will be 28 through the day, so it won't have cooled to that by game time

I'm thinking it will be Battle, Marsh & Savage.

Re: The Ben Long Appeal
Let's be honest, is anybody actually surprised? Once again the AFL demonstrate their pure incompetence and corruption. Their refusal to listen to QC Rush's balanced, rational and well-thought out arguments, show that common sense does not resonate with the AFL. Their refusal for us to call on a biom...

Hey guys there's whispers going around of a zoom call with an inked GWS mid (not Williams) who we are apparently deep in discussions with. There were some technical issues at the players end apparently, which made the conference quite a bit lengthier than it was going to be! Lloydy & Caro just ...

Re: Steele and Butler in 40 man AA Squad
Dusty and Danger haven't even had good years (by their lofty standards). Bont didn't really get going until the Doggies started finding form about 6-7 games ago. I don't understand why they don't play players where they actually play. Butler & Papley should have been locks in that forward line. ...

Re: Danger, danger, danger here comes Butler
I thought he would be a decent pick up when we traded for him, but his early to mid season form exceeded all expectations.
Even on his quiet days you cannot knock his effort or work rate.
I would flog him in FIFA though

Re: Off Season Targets
Taranto is a local Bayside kid. He is exactly what we need ! Would be an amazing get if we could land ...throw in Caldwell and our midfield is set. Would cost a few 1st round picks, 2nd round for Caldwell. Would do it in a heartbeat ... Just what we need as well - Taranto provides the class on the ...

Re: You are the coach
I think Jones in for Kent would be the natural change. However, Ratts has shown a tendency to play 3 small forwards, so not sure it will unfold like that. If Geary is going to play as a defensive small forward, Daniel would be the one he goes to. JJ seems to have been playing as more of a wingman re...

Definitely prefer to play the Dogs than the Pies.
Collingwood are the type of team we struggle against - organised defensively, great intercept players (Moore & Maynard) and a team that are willing to slow down the tempo and play at their pace.

Interesting hearing Lyon analyse this game on FC thinks GWS A grade mid talent will get them across thee line said saints have been cut up by A grade quality (Gaff/Kelly) and GWS with Coniglio likely back in have superb talent in there... Cunnington- Would be outstanding. But no way I would pay a first rounder for a 29 year old. Perfect fit if we reckon we are legit next year. Viney- Would be worth it. Just throwing names. I think Cunnington was one of the 4 names that the North hierarchy mentioned as "untouchable" during ...

Mids need to be our first, second and third priority.
We need quality and depth in midfield to compete with the best sides in this league.
