Re: The Academy and Father Son Piss take
Brisbane win the flag and essentially get two top ten picks. In return they hand over a pile of garbage late picks. This really has to stop to at least try and look like a equitable competition. Good old cryin Curly at it again 😭 😭 😭 White noise Buzzard white noise. I agree, your OP is little but w...

Re: (NO) Surprise! We pick 2 DEF
The question is how many Top 10 Draft Picks since we were a basket case, hence Riewoldt and Koschitzke (then 62!!) then the immediate years post that period? And the reasons you get Top 10 Picks (leaving aside the nonsense of Father/Son and Academy which distort) being that you are ordinary, at bes...

Re: Who is left on the board?
I like Jack Whitlock. Surprised his brother went first. No reason he couldn’t play key forward or back. I also like that he’s 200cm and not a 193 hybrid key forward. With Sharman & Owens we have two of those sub key position medium types up forward, I’d like another 200cm pure key position player.

Re: (NO) Surprise! We pick 2 DEF
I would have loved a Ute mid or two, but you cannot overlook the best talent available to draft for specific need. Maybe we will buck tradition and have elite power running on all lines as opposed to pure midfield. Talking to a GCS recruiter last week and he was pretty certain we would take Travigli...

Best player available is the key. No idea why people sweat on sliders. Well decent establishments offer good quality gourmet options like Morton Bay Bug Sliders or premium beef. I also wont eat a full burger but enjoy the bite size taste. I'm guessing you're an old school fish and chip shop burger ...

Re: I want pick 2
The one I am happiest with is this. I really want this. Lose - Saints 7,8 - Roos 2 - gws 15,16 Gain - Saints 2,16 - Roos 7,15 - GWS 8 Saints get Finn + another Roos get Tarau + another GWS slide right up That actually makes sense for all clubs involved. I'd punt on that one if I was the Saints.

I have a sneaking suspicion there might have been a few young Barker's running around local footy grounds in the 90's & 2000's.

Would love to see the math on how a couple of 80 minute plane rides over 5 weeks is going to derail our whole season 8-) Not so much the plane ride that is the issue it’s the nature of the crowd. It is immense on Adelaide away days, never see more one sided crowds which definitely impacts performan...

Re: Change in age demographic
Ross Lyon, when appointed, said he wanted to go to the draft. He's been true to his word In fairness, the 3 year strategy to focus on using our early round picks in the National Draft was agreed upon before Ross was appointed. Bassett, Ratten, Rath, and Lethlean created the strategy after the revie...

Re: Preparing for the monster meltdown
The big day has arrived and for most of us it's a combination of apprehension, fear, uncertainty, and dread mixed with a pinch of excitement. Whatever happens tonight there will be some seriously ugly tantrums on here. There will be a long thread filled with copied text between antagonists, a seemi...

Re: Jack Carroll
Settlefield and Hoskin Elliot were great selections Very funny quote, even funnier that SOS was not at GWS when Setterfield was selected. I guess SOS hasn’t selected more combined All Australians winners than 16 other present team head recruiters You guess correctly, SOS is nowhere near Stephen Wel...

Re: Jack Carroll
Dow & Stocker busts? Premature predictions of their demise? Certainly disrespectful timing, to try to make a cheap point. Hopeless "supporter". Dow #3 - traded for a bag of chips after 70 games. Stocker #19 (and more) delisted after 28 games. Both busts for Carlton? ABSOLUTELY! If you...

Re: Jack Carroll
Would he have been a better pick up if he was delisted by Geelong or Collingwood? Stocker has basically been a starting 22 player since he was picked up by us. Hardly a bust. I’m not sure what people are expecting to be picked up for free. Stocker was at the Saints before SOS, so totally irrelevant...

Re: Draft Preferences
If we get Langford at #7, I'm splitting 8 If not Smilie and Reid Trade F1 for pick 20 (shanahan) Why would you trade future 1st round pick for 20 Yeah personally I wouldn't trade F1. Hopefully it will end up 10+, but with how even the comp was last year a swing of a game or two could see us losing ...

Those who go on and on trying to undermine his legacy with questionable use of hindsight. If they really wish him well why the backstabbing, what's the point. Hall of Famer, Fullback of the Century, senior recruitment administrator for 14 years and going strong. But some are arguing he's been a dud...

Who do you want? Nuts on the line, no Harry hindsight’s Assuming the following are definitely gone Lalor O’Sullivan Ashcroft Draper Smith And Langford and Tauru are probably gone My selections if keeping pick 8 Smillie Reid Very tempted by Harry Armstrong but went two gun inside mids. I have never ...

Re: Jack Carroll
Moral dilemma for a few: really want SOS to stuff up our draft picks to prove a sterile point, but that would be a disaster for the club. O me, O my. Seriously who would want SOS to stuff up our picks? Really bizarre statement! Just because SOS has an horrendous first round drafting record, doesn't...

Given the picks he’s had I reckon blind Freddy would’ve got some right!!!! Just because he’s employed by StK doesn’t make him great He’s farked up plenty of first round picks and comes across as a bafoon!!! Here it is! 2011 #1 Patton Bust #2 Coniglio – Win (VG player) #3 Tyson – Bust #4 Hoskin-Elli...

Mate I’m not the one potting a highly respected list manager, hand picked, supported by our coach/board and venerated throughout the league. Why is the burden on proof always on me? Melbourne- same amount of wins in 2024, dream draw. Gee beating Carlton has potentially hurt us in the fixture and draft. I think we have without doubt been given a very challenging fixture. Do I care? NO! If you are going to challenge you have to win anytime, anywhere and under adversity. A soft d...

Re: Jack Carroll
The latest discussion dismisses SOS's respected position in the industry? That standing doesn't reconcile with claims he is hopeless. SOS would be highly respected as a great player and Carlton royalty, but does he have a respected position in the industry as a recruiter or list manager? He got sac...
