Re: zerohanger

After one game, Ross spoke about a Bonner turnover and said he told Bonner it was OK, 'we got u for your long kicking, so keep doing that' At the time, Ross might've been aware of one game where he had 17 turnovers Nah that was after the Collingwood game. The 17 turnover game was against Essendrug.

Re: Ken Hinkley is the boss

The adverse reaction towards Hinkley's gestures to Ginnivan post game is typical of the 'woke' era we live in, political correctness gone mad! You only need to look at Hinkley's broad smile while he was having a "crack at Jack" to understand that he was poking fun at a little bloke who fa...

Re: Ken Hinkley is the boss

Storm in a teacup. Nothing in it if Sicily hadn't acted like a sore loser and escalated. Was Ginnevan upset, in tears at being scolded, is he a sensitive flower? Hardly, just an average footballer wanting attention. All week the media pounded KH expecting his head on a plate and the Hawks caravan t...

Re: Ken Hinkley is the boss

A 60 year old coach taunting opposition players after winning a close final is as pathetic as it gets. Seriously embarrassing stuff. Deadset d**khead behaviour.

Yep. Already said it in an earlier thread that his development has been a slow burn, especially in regards to his decision making. He's actually one of our better users of the foot now. Pretty bloody ridiculous that some people on here were calling for him to be dropped this week. Absolutely clueles...

Re: Game thread V Blues

That would still have been a hurtful loss the way the game panned out, so I am glad we won even though it will cost us an earlier draft pick. a draft pick 2 higher which doesn’t always mean a better player (Philipou vs Tsatsis anyone) Loved Pou's game. Heaps of mistakes. But he was involved in all ...

Not the right age bracket and we've already got two Dan Houston's in our side. Doesn't play the same position as Battle, anyway.

Otiman wrote: Mon 19 Aug 2024 8:16am A real concern if it continues into next year.

Teams can have an 'impact' player but for someone like Hunter Clark we would want him on the ground more than that.
I don't think he's incapable of playing more minutes. I think we're just being super conservative with him. Which is fine for now.

Re: Hunter Clark 56% Time On Ground 😱

Won't get the votes but I thought he was as important as anyone on the ground. The way he can draw two or three opponents and then get the ball to the outside it so important to the way we play. I don't think it was a coincidence that we got smacked around the footy the last time he didn't play. If ...

Re: James Peatling

Late second round to early third round pick. No more than that. Often see second tier mids enter a classy midfield and do well. Opposition would be putting all their work into Tom Green and co and not paying much attention to Peatling. Which isn't to say the kid isn't a player. Would be a savvy recr...

Re: Changes v The Cats

Mclennan out looks very one paced and struggled when the ball hit the deck. Bynes out Pou in Garcia in Byrnes definitely not out. Not sure what you saw but he worked harder than anyone on the field, was creative and generally made good decisions with ball in hand. His decision making has definitely...

Re: Battle

Over on big footy the word is he's going to re-sign. Judging by his last after-game interview, I got the feeling he's gonna re-sign. He seemed pretty damn invested. Just a feeling I got. Also, Hawthorn has upped its chase for Tom Barrass, which tells me they have the same feeling as well. If I am r...

Another example of the AFL media having almost zero respect for our club. Pretty f***** insulting. Best way to shut them up is by getting better. Need to use these last four games to really build into next year. I'd like to think that Jack would take these kind of bulls*** reports pretty personally....

Four direct goals from our supposed "ins" tonight. Bonner and Jones. Fmd. Shouldn't be playing. Garcia and McLennan should be playing instead.

Re: Trade King

I think the whole team just needs a psychological reset when it comes to Kingy. I reckon part of the reason our f50 delivery is so atrocious is because we think he's half a chance of taking a pack mark, which he is, but only on very certain occasions. That's why I vouch for playing him between the a...

The way he threw himself into every contest shamed most of our midfielders this year. With the endeavour that he showed, he should be starting in the centre square next week.

I'd be interested to see how that worked. Seems freer up the ground and more comfortable in shooting for goal from range.
Play him between the arcs. We should look at how Carlton use McKay. Pressure release from d50. Don't need him deep

Can't remember a team missing so many handballs. And that's not including the turnovers by foot.

Our best footy can go with the best. Just gotta get some of these kids playing four quarters of footy.
