'lll put it another way. No way does LD get a game at the Tigers or Eagles. Doesnt have the polish of a Prestia or Dom Sheed who are similar types. So many ways of looking at a subjective topic, how would Dom or Prestia go in a bottom 4 side where they are the main focus of an opposition coach week...

Re: 8 reasons for saints fansto be excited

I genuinely believe Brad Hill is underrated. Sure he is rated highly by the media and public. I get that. But he is actually a bit better than that. This is a bloke who has already played 150 games and is only 26. He is resilient, consistent, a hard worker, reliable, smart and a beautiful kick. He's...

Re: Hannebury must play inside

Seriously though. OP has a point. DH is only 28 years old. 29 when the season starts. This is by no means old. We should be expecting at least 2 premium years from him. We know he is in the top 5 % of $ earners. Needs to play 15 games and be a top 5 player. If Hannebery, Hill, Jones, Steele, Ross an...

Hopefully I’m wrong, but I’ve seen little in his attitude and footy that suggest AFL quality.

Not in the best 32 players and is a pure outside wingman

I would go with the big bodied tackling machine
Jack Steele
OK but I thought the discussion was along the lines of "if not Steele then who?'

Re: Locks and openings round 1

Port have the gone the opposite approach to us on tall defenders. We keep recruiting them. They keep giving them away.

They have recently lost Howard, Austin (both Saints), O'Shea (Blues), Hombsch (Suns) and Trengove (Dogs).

They now rely on Clurey, Leinert (13 games) and two rookies. Risky.

Re: Jack Bytel

are you arguing Dunstan won't put his body on the line to win a contest or help the team win, there was a game late in the season we won and had it not been for Dunstan's act of courage and his clear disregard for his personal safety we might have lost, can you remember the act? As a side question,...

Re: Jack Bytel

The thing about Dunstan is he'll jump on a hand grenade for the team and to win a contest. Secret kiel is one of the cleverest names in footy forum history. Not sure you can justfiy that comment. If we look at '1%ers' as the closest stat to 'jumping on a hand granade' then the AFL leaders are avera...

Strange career trajectory for Jack SInclair.
He kicked
18.7 in 2015
4.4 (from 9 games) in 2016
8.8 in 2017
6.9 in 2018
4.11 in 2019

Going backwards in both output and accuracy.

Re: Jack Bytel

Dunstan has managed 103 games already at age 24 and is out of contract it the end of 2021 but he is very limited (slow, poor kick).

There is a real opportunity for Bytel to come in to the senior side (taller, quicker and better kick) on a permanent basis.
