Re: Last 4 National drafts
Like every year.
Fortunately the need is reducing each year. Perversely the better a side gets the easier it is to get better, "equalisation" is just an aspiration.

Re: The Academy and Father Son Piss take
Lucky to win the flag? Not sure they would see it that way. Getting players for less than they are worth, what does it matter where you finish? Sure BNE are laughing all the way to the top 4, but it's the AFL and the rest of the comp that should be concerned. It should matter, like draw equity over...

Lad has hardly had a good chance to be consistent. Given bit parts and had injuries.

Re: The Academy and Father Son Piss take
To be fair We got Owens, Windhager for less than they were worth and will probably get Cole, Hoffman and Peckett for a pack of chips Point well made. I just had an impression fs and academy access was different. Certainly if a club has put years and resources into youngsters that club deserves disc...

Re: The Academy and Father Son Piss take
We are about to be beneficiaries And so we should. But we didn't bolt in the 2024 premiership after being close runner up in 2023, and the pick won't be a top 5 talent. Any advantage based on unevenly distributed circumstances is contrary to equalisation. Last night's largesse towards Brisbane was ...

Of Mocks:
was that televised event as amateur as a multi million $ industry could put on.
Dixon crass and inane, Dillon skipping on and off stage, camera operators trying to spy on Sydney notes, a child playing with a lollie snake lodging the pick one choice.
What a mob.

Valid point CURLY, belatedly recognised by the AFL.

Re: 2025 Fixture
The focus has been on the competitiveness of the fixture, but at it's heart footy is entertainment. No games in Qld and one in NSW - that's a bit rough for our supporters outside of Melbourne. (Unless you're in Adelaide!) Winning is entertaining. Losing gets boring. See a win on TV v see a loss liv...

Dow & Stocker busts?
Premature predictions of their demise?
Certainly disrespectful timing, to try to make a cheap point. Hopeless "supporter".

Re: Draft Preferences
My preference would be those currently holding picks 1 to 6 to second guess themselves into silly choices so we benefit mightily.
It must be a burden holding picks 1,2 or 3 for a couple of months. Plenty of time to war game yourself into a tizz.

Would love to see the math on how a couple of 80 minute plane rides over 5 weeks is going to derail our whole season 8-) If they were sightseeing flights over King Island and the games following were at Marvel, maybe not a lot of harm. Still if 80 minute flights did any good every club would be doi...

Those who go on and on trying to undermine his legacy with questionable use of hindsight. If they really wish him well why the backstabbing, what's the point. Hall of Famer, Fullback of the Century, senior recruitment administrator for 14 years and going strong. But some are arguing he's been a dud ...

Aren't we putting Crouch on the rookie list? Anyway, I would like to think that we would definitely be going to the draft (esp for our first two picks) right up until the Tasmania team comes in. This year I sincerely we hope we pick two pure midfielders. Because key position defenders you can get a...

OK, how about, top 8 play each other twice home and away straight up. Bottom 10 play each other home and away straight up. Remaining rounds alternate between names drawn from a hat and broadcaster's call. Previous years final 8 teams can play each other 3 times if broadcaster wants. Betting firms ca...

If Adelaide were serious, the emblem should be a church and the creature a carp, swimming in brackish hard water. Bty, Maggie's are more common in SA than crows but that totem is taken. Have seen seagulls and pigeons at Adelaide Oval mainly near the Riscutto stand, not so much Crows. Then again hav...

AFL GHQ should pay the expenses of the families of our round 1 debutantes. Sending us to Adelaide for opening round, oh boy. Players might well watch Gladiator 2 before travelling.
