At some point we need to invest time into the guys we draft instead of picking up scraps from other clubs and ignoring the guys we chose

Bing just holding onto 10th in the Suns B&F at round 20. Crazy considering how many goals he kicked and how trash they were.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Blues Round 20 2021
Zak Jones thinks that he is so much better than he really is.
In his mind he’s on level pegging with Steele but in reality when we’re fully healthy he’s probably like 4th-5th in line.
Always wants to do the fancy instead of the steady.

I hope they look into the off field professionalism of some players.

Is this the Dan effect?

Re: How we beat GWS
1. Limit their midfield stars 2. Desperation and pressure 3. Goal kicking accuracy This game tonight will have finals like pressure, especially if GWS turns up to play. I think we are more balanced across every line but GWS have 4 or 5 A grade players. Desperation, tackling, smothers, pressure need...

Re: Micky Milkshake on Ratts
Agree that the absence of Hannebery, Gresham and Dunstan is hurting Simply we are denied the flexibility of rotations because none of our “small forwards” are capable of giving a chop out Butler I would excuse because his asset is his ability to score The remainder only jag a goal every now or then...

Re: Roughy backs King and Saints forward line
Please don't incite the intellectual nuff nuffs by posting content that might start another goddamn thread about how King drops marks. Anyone with a brain knows that King is doing as good as job as can possibly be expected for a 20yo KF after 14 games with the best defender on him each week. Don't ...

Re: I feel sorry for Max King
Imagine he took a third of the marks he dropped tonight I’d like that to be the case but what is exciting is you can see he gets right in the contest he’s in strong position a lot of the time... if he starts clunking them lookout He just doesn’t have the body strength to hold his position and the b...

...Jack’s had one poor game all year. And has been our best in some real important wins, like against Port, Bulldogs, Richmond and Carlton. He certainly looked to be playing in a different role/position on the weekend than he was earlier in the year. Maybe he’s carrying a little knock or maybe it wa...

Reckon he'll end up being our Blicavs type, someone that plays a different role most weeks, just plug and play where we need him most.

13 Disposals
5 Contested
3 Clearances
3 Score Involvements
Who cares if he didn't kick it.
Got it in close and found a teammate.
Reckon he's gonna be a jet for us over a long period of time.

Re: Bytel.
How did he not get the Rising Star nomination this week , unbelievable He played ok but he was given a lot of freedom by Geelong as our midfileld hardly needed any cover. A bigger sample size is needed before he gets into Rising Star discussions. Wasn't going to get a Rising Star nom first up but t...

Re: Gresham back stress fractures - Season over?
If we see Hunter as a future midfielder, probably never been a better time than to give him some extended minutes in there.
Bring in a Savage/Roberton to help out down back and let Hunter go on ball a little more.

Re: Our forward line is why we MUST play two rucks
Just because Ryder came out doesn’t mean we should’ve played Abbott. The two rucks have been working because Ryder is so dominant at the centre bounce (so far) No guarantee that Abbott provides the same. Additionally, Marshall looked cooked, more than a couple of times he didn’t even try and jump in...

Re: King?
I'd say rest him against Brisbane if he has another quiet game against Essendon.
Every chance he can kick 4-5 against the Dons.
They play fast & free which could give Max some decent looks without a mob of people pushing back.

Re: King?
If he kicks those two goals, he’s had a decent night. 100% agree that just bombing it on his head isn’t ideal for him personally. But as a team, it’s working. He rarely gets out marked, always gets it to ground and the smalls feast off him. Give him some more time and the smalls might not get as man...

Good video - we could have one of the best media teams in the league.
Everything seems to be taking shape off field... now to land a couple of big names and we’re well on the way

Re: Gresh - Forward or Mid?
Just adding on to this.
Was having a debate with an Essendon friend about Gresh v Orazio, so had a look at the stats again.
Didn't realise that Gresh kicked 30.30 in his second season. 35.20 the year after.
He's a 50-60 goal a year small forward if we want him to be.
