Re: Dal santo
I'd rookie list him like we've done with Schneids- In a sort of mentor/player role, and can come into a game if players get injured and we're contending for a finals spot. His presence at the club could be valuable to us.

Injuries
Is it just me or do we look like we have some of the best medical and fitness staff going around- Fisher the only injury this week who might even come back in, while most other teams sit with 10-15 injured players. Seemed to be about the same last year. Pot luck or good training?

Re: Suns, GWS and the next 5 years...
I can see the Suns going the way of all GC sporting franchises and being a long-term basket case. GWS are a different story. They have Canberra and Riverina zones which are traditionally strong footy factories. They have guys on their list like Hopper, Himmelberg, M Kennedy, Steele and Z Williams t...

LATE BLOOMERS exactly! Dees and dogs talk crap saying average age is same or lower why is everyone saying saints are youngest??? We have 30 players under 50 games. We have only 11 who have played 50-200 games. We are the mpst inexperienced side in the comp. Very exciting as we should be bottom and ...

Really looks like we have some players pushing for selection. Also not to mention Freeman's 46 possessions in the reserves. And good to see Bailey Rice is recovering well.

Re: McCartin - The biggest recruiting disaster of all time
How can you say this a year into a player's career? Paddy wasn't and still isn't anywhere near what he's hyped up to become. But it's about what they become, not what they are 7 games into a career. Full forwards take time to build confidence and skill in a game so contrasting with tac cup and vfl f...

Does Freeman's injury seem like it will never end? He was supposed to be back in two weeks 2 months ago. Now listed at 4 weeks till his return. This seems like much more of a problem than the club is making it out to be. Worrying...

Re: Where does Geary fit into the puzzle?
I'd be very happy to have Geary as our next captain. It's fairly common to have small, nuggety and hard working defenders become great leaders- Nick Maxwell is known to have been a great captain despite being a less great player. Kevin Sheedy, Mick Malthouse, Tom Harley- also all backmen, and lesser...

Re: Saints explore top up option
Richo tweeted that they were working with AFL to be able to add another rookie. I don't know if that is what this is referring to or whether they now want an extra fully list player as an option and not upgrade a rookie. A rookie would be the cheapest option for us. It might also be to back Port an...

Saints explore top up option
ST KILDA has joined Port Adelaide in exploring the option of adding a top-up player to its list after coming to terms with the loss of banned recruit Jake Carlisle for the 2016 season. St Kilda would not be certain to take up the option of signing a top-up player, but it is understood the club is ke...

Re: Carlisle ban?
Forget about this year- It's about how Carlisle will return next year. If he's fit and firing, what's the problem? As mentioned earlier a year out of the game can actually extend players careers- like having an extra long off season. And if we are looking to the future, then that is a good thing. If...

Re: What areas will we need to strengthen in 2016?
A lot of posters seem concerned that when Roo does finish up, the Saints will be finished. WE thought the same when Robert Harvey finished, and the next season we were in the grand final. We thought the same when Lenny Hayes finished, yet his last season saw us on the bottom, and we improved from t...

Re: Which way will footy head in the next 5 years
I'm less minding the fact that we are recruiting players that can play in multiple positions- as you say the cap is reducing and it means players will alternate between forward/back and on ball, which will work to our advantage given we have so many mid/fwds and mid/defs.

Re: Tom Lynch, the one that got away
The simple fact is 07-010 "where the lost years". That is a direct quote from Champion data. Those fella's know their stuff. You only had to read the Herald Suns redo of the 07 & 08 drafts to see how badly we performed. McEvoy dropped to fifteen. Ouch!! Lynch from 13 to 20. How bad is...

The new saints trend
I'm sure many have noticed this- we seem to over the past couple of years picked up pairs of players that just so happen to already be good mates. Sinclair and billings, paddy and Hugh, white and rice, Gresham and o'kearney...
So what should we make of this trend? Tactical/coincidence? Good/bad?
