Re: Carlton - a historical perspective

Carlton are like a multi generational crime family that's been forced to go straight. They now serve tables at the restaurant on Lygon St where they previously ate and plotted their crimes. They whinge, they moan they can't understand what happened, I love it.

Re: Match Thread - cats v saints

This just too painful. We are getting worse with each week. There are so many holes in the list, it's going to be a very long time before we can even look competitive. Other than Nick we simply have no forward line whatsoever.

Re: Clint Jones vs bombers

It seems that the opposition pay no respect to him at all, they know if he gets it a turn over or a pass to no advantage will result. Rarely does he get the ball and use it well, that's why opposition teams don't mind him having it, they are willing to release Jones and apply pressure elsewhere. He ...

I have it on good authority that Lyon very much regretted playing Eddy in the drawn game and apparently didn't have a choice in the replay, it's no co-incidence that was the end of him.

Re: Dal Santo's Effort Being Questioned

Fingers, I hate to admit it as I loved watching Dal play but you are corect. He wins best in show but will not pull the wagon home, still I'm very thankful that he played for us as he made a good team that much better. Right now he wouldn't make that much difference, I hope he does well, he's a qual...

Re: Garlett gone

If we had drafted him it would have been reported another Saints failure, as it stand the Hawks will be seen as giving a troubled guy a go. Reality is Garlett was not up to it, nothing more nothing less. The Hawks copped one but it is just a graze, the likes of Caroline Wilson would have been on us ...

Lee will be a very good player, he's had a very limited pre-season and is building. He's 194 and 91kgs (can go to 95kgs), is the best kick for goal we have and can hold marks. The only thing that can hold him back is his body. Category 1 - no doubt.

Feel really sorry for him and us, if we can get even 12 games from him this year it will have been worth keeping him on the list, such a class user of the ball and with with Dal gone class is in very short supply.

Re: DR. SCHOLL to be appointed to staff

Hi Dave, There is a significant tradeoff in place with support Vs energy absorbtion and I take with your piont on my inconsistency. To explain, those payers who do not have significant gait issues can probably gain more from a softer form Orthotic at say 4 degrees or less when training, my piont on ...

Re: DR. SCHOLL to be appointed to staff

I actually worked Dr Scholl in Australia for 16 years and visited the club to help with stress injuries years ago, eventually the the Podiatrists decided they didn't want our help. At the time many of the players were were wearing hard Orthotics both for playing and training and were breaking down. ...

Re: Farewell Blakey ... and thanks

A terrific career. I think he was probably a better player than he allowed hmeself to be, on those occasions he played attacking football he was great, his game against Sandliands is a standout memory. As the ultimate club man he was more than happy to give off the glory. Well done Blakey!

Saints rising star history - not good!

It is a massive worry that in the past 10 years we have had 4 rising star moninations; Raph 2005, Gilbert 2007, Geary 2009 and Steven 2011, on simple Maths over the time the Saints have had 1.7% of nominations! Last year and this year to a greater extent year we have played the kids and have none. T...

He's paid to kick goals and the two misses from straight in front in the 1st qrt cost us dearly. He wasn't the lone ranger but if he can't kick em he shouldn't be there.

Our effort is a disgrace, Melbounre try harder than this. Senior players are not setting an example in any way, Fisher put your hand up. The worst thing is we are getting worse and worse each week. I hope they can do something to redeem thensleves in the next three qtrs.

Ever the optimist I reckon we can be 6 & 7. That Assumes a loss to Adelaide and wins against; Bulldogs, North, WCE and Demons. North is a big call but the others are very achieveable. We seem to be improving each week and with Maister & Lenny back will just get stronger. "For myself I a...

ohh the joy of that game in 04, I took my daughter to her first game and smiled for the next 4 weeks. Sippo has a long way to go, if he can pay another 10-15 this year he may be auto pick next year. He really needs to learn to work harder and keep presenting to overcome his lack of speed. I agree with Matrix, for team balance he's best on the HFF. I'd love to see him take the next step but it's gonn...

Good on him I reckon he's probably a great boke (without a camera in his hand) and he can find the footy. Same as all of us I just wish he could then give it to someone in a Saints jumper. He would be elite if he could kick no doubt.

I doubt there is a person on this forum who would not have loved him to be a champion but when its up it's up and the team comes first. Time to bow out and give another the chance, thanks for the effort but when i think about it I can't remember too many highlights despite all that I wish for.

Re: To those who cheered when Kosi was subbed off....

For a very long time he has not deserved his place in our best 22, I hope Scott moves him on at any cost and gives another the chance to develop. He seems very lost and without purpose on the field, he has little idea of where and how to lead and can't ruck. I applaud Scott's move to finally admit h...
