Re: Pou in the age
Great read. Confirms the feeling I have about what we have on our hands. Yep, I've had feelings like this about players before him and was wrong (Caydn Beetham being a good example, Damian Kitschke for those old enough to remember, to a lesser degree Kosi as well who never hit the superstar heights ...

ESPN thinks we did well: "It's a group of players taken with upside in mind, and the Saints will be thrilled to have pulled off selections for sliders in this year's pool. St Kilda traded back one selection and banked a future second-rounder on night one before taking hard-running wingman Darcy...

Re: Who replaces Gresham?
If Gresham is that bad, how is it that Essendon have offered him around $700K per season giving us tier 2 compensation? I don't think he's A grade by any stretch of the imagination, but I don't believe he's as woeful as a fair few members of this site think he is.
I never said Gres...

Re: Who replaces Gresham?
Who replaces Gresham doing what? He kicks a goal a game average, bang on 1 a game. I think we can pick that up in a forward line with King, Caminiti, Owens, (hopefully) Membrey, Phillipou, Butler and Higgins plus a midfield and wings that like to actually work and run. He slaps the ball on to his fo...

Same theme, different club - Isaac Smith playing for Geelong against Hawthorn got booed every time he touched the ball by Hawks fans. What the actual? Which of the 3 premierships he helped deliver to your club weren't you happy with? Be classy. I have never booed an ex-Saint, not even Ross when he w...

Yes, it's early and I am not getting ahead of myself (50-year+ St K fans never do) but to date, it's 3 things for me: 1) The entire coaching group: it's not just Lyon, it's Lyon-Harvey-Hayes-Enright-Goddard - those guys are talking, you are listening (the directive is, apparently, do NOT forget to b...

Re: Lies, Damned Lies & Statistics
One of the big things we are doing is letting the opposition pass the ball around once they control it - we guard space like junkyard dogs, let the other team chip it, we don't care, knowing at some point we will force a turnover and set sail for our F50. So, our Uncontested possession count will al...

Re: Best Team and Magoos - we have good depth!
I know this was a 'depth' post but I don't think Mattaes is in the best 22 right now - we have to separate excitement from reality. I really like Bytel and think he can be a real player, but he's also probably not in the best 22 either, as it stands. I'd definitely have Hayes and DMac in there.
