Re: Paddy mcCartin
If he doesn't have concussion and I hope he doesn't, then the Swans should not have been allowed sub him out.

Re: Newnes - Free Agency Target
I would fight to keep him. He played a completely different role in 2018 which saw him spend a lot more time forward and he kicked 18 goals. Given how hard we found it to score last year 18 goals was a big effort.

Re: Huns view on how many games we will win in 2019
Natural improvement from Gresham, Clark, and Coffield. Josh Bruce returns up forward and if Josh Battle stands up at the back we will be better off. Put into the mix some of Hanneberry's competitiveness that hopefully rubs off on Sinclair and Billings we are better around the middle of the ground. I...

Re: Guess The Crowd: Rooey's Saints vs. Eagle Junkies
I missed the game with my son, as we probably will the next three games because he plays footy himself on a Sunday afternoon. He wasn't at all pleased when I said I was going to watch Roo play his last few games instead of going to his footy.

Re: Billy Cost Us The Game
I have only watched it once but there was a saints player running towards the throw in who veers right to go to the front of the throw and therefore leaves a yawnig great hole for Gray to run through at the back. I tell the under 14's guard the space at the back of the throw in.

Re: Paddy and the Gresh
It is a really good sign that these two very young players are dropping chest marks. It means they are getting to the right places and being in the right place is the hardest thing to learn in football. The rest will come with time and experience.

Re: Changes against the Dogs
I have no stats to back this up, and I was doing other things while watching the game, but I thought Gresham was our only forward who consistently got his hands on the ball in the last quarter. Leave him in. Make the guys in the seconds earn their spots with two good games in a row.

And isn't it great for us old blokes in this era of scientific training methods to hear Spud giving advice like 'Just run around with a bag of oranges in each hand".

Re: Is the Club Being Pig Headed?
We are only being pig headed if we are trying to get Carlisle for less than he is worth. It's like buying anything, you set your maximum price, and if someone is prepared to pay more then they get the goods. I will be unhappy if we pay overs, but if we are outbid, then so be it.

Re: Question about Tim Membrey
The best part about the missed marks was he was in the right place. You can't teach that, but the coaches can work on his concentration and focus in circumstances like that. And the goal in the last quarter he was in the right place at the right time and hit the ball with real speed. He made a good ...

Re: Sinclair
The best part of Lonie and Sinclair was the quality of their decision making and skill execution in the last quarter. And any one who thinks Sinclair missed a sitter should try running flat out, about 15 degrees away from the goals with someone on your tail and see how easy that kick was.

I would be very happy with Whitfield, he was good early when the game needed to be set up, and his foot skills are as good as anyone going around.

Re: Jack Steven out for 6 weeks
Let's be positive.
The likes of Newnes, Ross, Saunders, Webster, Murdoch, Wright and Hickey all young, all will improve naturally on their first 10 to 20 games. And Tom Curren might add something based on his appearances towards the end of last year as well.

Has anyone seen Lewis Pierce play? As a project ruckman should he be delisted if we get Longer and picked up in the rookie draft which would leave a spot to put Tom Curren on the main list. Curren at least looks ready to play now.

My son had Luke Ball's 14 on his back. So I ironed a 4 over the 1 and turned him into a Milney fan. Not sure what I can do this time. I might have to finally buy him a new jumber.

Actually it should probably help our small backline. It will allow them to get a run and jump at taller opposition forwards without a block being put on them. Assuming the rule is interpreted both ways of course.

If Cripps is unsettled and wants to go back to Perth, then we would have to be better off getting in someone who would be settled living in Melbourne.

The way plays, balanced, strong and gutsy overhead and seems to have time without being quick he reminds me of Sam Fisher. Aad the fact he can kick a goal when needed he would be ideal to groom into Fisher's half back role.

Didn't Jack kick two goals in the last quarter yesterday when we needed them, both just inside the 50 metre line.
