Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion
There doesn’t seem to be much of a supply of ruckmen available. Pick of the crop seems to be Toby Conway of Geelong Falcons who is 204cm and rucked for Vic Country. Mac Andrew is attracting attention but the knock on him is that he’s a long term prospect. You don’t waste high draft picks for a specu...

How does the draft bidding system work?
GWS has picks 2, 15, 37, 39, 45, 52, 55, 57, 58, 59, 60, 77, 109, 127.
They say they will use pick 2 to select the best player available after Bummers first pick.
Then they will bid on their academy players.
How does this work in practice?

Re: A Little More Draft Analysis
If we lose Steven to FA we wont be chasing Dangerfield... Why not? I'd swap Steven for Dangerfield in a heartbeat. They're exactly the same age but Dangerfield has been AA twice to Steven's zero times. It's a no-brainer. Though I'm not sure why he'd come to us unless we paid him $1m+ a year. Geelon...

What woud you expect in the next year or two when some of those younger Bulldog players have to negotiate new contracts and they look at how much the club is paying for Boyd - more trouble looming IMO.

Grimley is worth looking at. Couldn't break into the Hawks with their strong ruck lineup.
And wasn't Bampton slated for a top 25 finish.

Re: Hayes and Weller reported
Worse still for Weller is the fact that because he's a rookie and hasn't been elevated, he will serve his suspension by missing Sandringham's first game in the VFL's opening round. Therefore, we won't see him until VFL Round 2 on 13 April.

Re: Bitter No-name VFLer wants Saad dragged to his level
18 month ban from AFL is way worse than 24 month from VFL. Killing your livelihood as a top grade pro v postponing a hobby In fairness though, cheating at AFL level is probably also quite a bit worse than cheating at VFL level since the stakes are so much higher. I wouldn't exactly call playing in ...

Caro's a hypocrite. A while ago she was pushing Williams as the man for the coaching job at Melbourne. Now she's suggesting the Toigs hold firm because its November, not September?

Re: St Kilda, a club in crisis. The Age
The stronger clubs of the competition are united in ensuring they retain their positions of power while the weaker clubs like ours are divided. When Melbourne, the Bulldogs and North go to the AFL for help we stand by and either criticise them or do nothing. How can we expect their support now that ...

Re: Herald Sun
The whole idea of grading clubs at this stage is nonsensical. There's a lot more recruiting to be done through the national, pre season and rookie draft as well as delisted free agents. And even when that's over, a great deal will depend on how the recruits develop and blend into their new and old t...

Re: Official Trade Rumours thread (all in here please)
Anyone who thinks we get a first rounder for dal Santo is dreaming. The criteria is not based on what a player has achieved in the past but rather on his age and the size and length of contract. On what I've heard, probably a mid 2nd round at best.
