Re: Un St.Kilda like!
i was hoping that we could maybe change things up and have a player forward of centre be our new whipping boy? Polo - gone! Peak - gone! Raph - gone! Gram - gone! All these guys played majority Wing or Back where your every move is under the microscope, for far too long we have let our forwars off t...

Re: Raph de-listed??
Funny how some people like to bang on about Raph costing us the 09 GF by getting run down from behind. Wasn't that very early on in the first quarter? Didn't we hit the lead after that? Didn't we lead for most of the game until well into the final quarter? Never mind  Good point. It still did...

Re: the term "list clogger"
I find it pretty funny, when we label raph clark a 'list clogger' who has no worth, is useless etc etc etc but we will trade him for a first round pick because he is an experienced player with a fearless attack?? either he is as you called it a 'list clogger' and worth nothing, or his value is a bit...

Re: David Rodan -Delisted
i'd give him a crack, does play in bursts but when he's on does cut teams apart. good tackler and solid body. at the worst, we would have an entry into the footy show players review!

Re: Sen rumour
With extra ruck depth, we must wonder about the future of Jason Blake. And the addition of Lee raises questions about Kosi's future. If we lose Farren, Goddard and Raph Clarke our half back line will be depleted. I wouldn't be trded Farren Ray away anyhow. Raph and Kosi are list and salary cap clog...

Re: Raph Clarke on the move
You'd be suprised at what he can do up the other end of the field LD combined with his defensive experience could ironically run down a few backmen!

Re: Raph Clarke on the move
Yep well said. I remember his 15 mark final against Collingwood it just put the flogs in there box. Bloke has been run down a handful of times and cops flack for it repeatadly. I still think in a side that plays attacking footy he would be great across half back.
+1, running off hal...

Re: Raph Clarke on the move
alot of players never see an AFL game after being drafted, they spend a year or 2 in VFL/WAFL/SANFL before they get cut loose, along way from being the worst ever AFL player. I bet the 2013 squad are sh*tting themselves if he leaves... 1. Who are you all going to string up now? 2. Who is going to ba...

Re: Gram & Kosi re-sign
we re-signing players based on being good blokes around and for the club now as opposed to football ability?
if kosi is good for development, employ him as a coach not a player as he has struggled onfield but exceeds off it.

Re: Saints official delistings
good luck to clarke at another club, not a fit for us but i'm sure he's massive upside would slot into another list in the bottom half. Could be used as a good leader amongst younger players. His courageous efforts during his 3 games this year will be missed by the few that lack the b@lls to go back...

last 5 weeks in the VFL and he still manages a post, where sad and lonely keyboard kings sink their boots in knowing that the power in numbers theory will prevail....
I cant be racist if everyone else is doing it?? can't I??

Re: Raph = Gonseki in 2013 ?
Sadly, I think Raph may be cut at the end of the year. If he is, then I'd like to thank him for his services as he helped us make two GF's and was part of that incredible run in 2009. Personally, I think he would be a handy pick up gor GC or GWS as his experience would be very valuable for their ki...

Re: Raph = Gonseki in 2013 ?
Tend to agree, his season in the saints colours is done. Maybe a positive end to the VFL season will see him go to another club?
Does he have a big enough tank to follow the ball allday? in close he seems very evasive, maybe a handy onball back up?

Re: guess this weeks ins and outs
In Chips Geary Out Newnes Clarke ?? Well done raph, but unfortunately you did not do enough during your game last week (playing in defence in a 90+ point win) and your run/covering would be wasted against Adelaide who are moving the ball the quickest in the comp... your consistant 3 weeks o...

Re: Desire & Desperation........Q?
Personally I don't think we lost either round 1 or 4 through lack of desperation or desire, on Friday we won most of the key indicators of intensity, but lacked composure and polish, which will only come with time for the players under 50 games. Ross Lyon's teams are very hard to score against, whi...

Desire & Desperation........Q?
Do we have the desire to win the 50/50 games? To take the game by the scruff when its their to be won and jam it to the opposition. Freo were desperate for the win on friday night.. and got it. Are we too fancy to slog out a desperate & somewhat ugly win? Losing games doesn't seem to affect our ...

Re: Team Rnd 1
For the life of me I can't understand how people can pick a team for a game without taking opposition matchups into account. Sure, the bulk of selections will be right but it will be the one or two selections that will irk people and that's becuase the coach has the opposition in mind.. Are any of ...

Re: Backline
Not saying raph is our saviour, far from it. People talk about balance and an even spread and I think he needs to be in our back 6 to apply this even spread that people seek. The narrow minded 'supporters' who call for players heads week after week with no real 'footy brain' may as well read another...

Don't know about Gilbert at FB. Hopefully Raph will be up to the challenge this season (especially with Gwilt still out for a while yet). I know he was'nt the greatest player but losing Dawson hurts us alot. But this talk about throwing Simpkin and Cripps straight in come Round 1 sounds a little bi...

we do lack defenders who can go tall, although i do remember watching r.clarke at subi play on a resting seaby in the pocket and his timing to spoil was 2nd to none..he exposed seaby on numrous occaisions through run (albeit a resting ruckman but still...) he is an option if selected, wont hold my b...
