Yes, it appears as though the clean out has worked and a good thing for the club and Ritcho too. Sports journos have made mention of the new system and how we are benefiting from it.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Bummers Round 2 2019

Only got to see the replay late last night, not sure why some were so nonplussed about our win. Sure the opposition didnt provide much in the first couple of quarters but when the pressure increased and the game was up for grabs our composure was good and the team absorbed it.

Re: Parker and Wilkie

Its VERY early days to be getting too carried away with individual performances........ BUT I'm LOVING the way that "Nosey" Parker goes about his footy, given the fact of where he's come from. Same story with Wilkie, could be a gold nugget! Time will tell of course. I am fairly optimistic...

Re: Consider Trading Billings

No. He’ll be a superstar at Essendon, slotting them from everywhere and taunting us for the next decade. What we need is a coaching set up that gets the most out of the talent that Billings has. That Gresham has, that Acres, Clark, etc have. Spot ON! THIS! And all that will happen is we trade him o...

I remember fondly the footage of Harvey side stepping and wrong footing the Carlton players one after another... sublime. Somebody please put it up if they know what I’m talking about. I watched this as a kid and that bit of play is the very reason became a fan of St Kilda. https://youtu.be/6be84TH...

Considering we are a big chance (apparantly) to land him and we want him, Hanners Watch has started. Good first game back from a bloke that is apparantly cooked physically (lol at the online medico...

1. Can't kick 2. Drop marks 3. Don't man up 4. Fumble the ball. 5. Lack basic skills. 6. Can't lose an opponent. 7. Poor decision making. 8. Can't tackle. 9. Give away unnecessary free kicks. I hate Roos but had to agree with him that Dunstan's field kicking is not AFL standard. Also the side was p...

Good effort - showed we can match it with the better teams, even with a makeshift backline. McKenzie keeps improving, Weller does not. Lonie & Hickey surprised me - good games. Tend to float our passes high too much, gives the forwards no chance. Got to kick into leading space. Just got to impr...

Re: Free Kick Count

We won the frees 24-13 Curls? The number isn't actually a true reflection of the free kick count. Richmond has adopted the Hawthorn strategy to give away deliberate free kicks to slow down a run on and stop overlap running. The free forces the opponent to have to go back from the mark to re-start p...

We also love to handball backward out of packs which plays into the hands of teams like tigers and cats who love to swarm forward and base there game plan around this. I wonder if its a directive to actually tackle, for a while they intent seemed to "corral" or "guard space" which didn't seem to work. The "corral" (which was mainly just standing there waving one's arms about) has been my pet hate for years. Most of the time all that ...
