There's a reason the Hawks delisted him. He couldn't get a game even before they recruited Battle & Barrass. A pass for me.

Absolutely clueless post.

If anything, the really skipper stood up in the last qtr when the game was on the line.

I'd rather this than deal with the backlash had we appointed Steve Rosich, the ex Freo CEO. Carro would have had a field day.

Re: Dual narrative

Is the new ‘year of exploration’ So we are trying to win games and get games into kids at the same time - to build a premiership list Injuries could be a blessing in disguise Maybe this year, dropping down and getting a pick 5-8 won’t be the worst thing? Combined with a pick 23-28. And maybe tradin...

You'll find that Cordy was recruited just before RTB's arrival. That decision was made by the Ratten regime.

Training Report 7th Feb, 2024 Arrived around 9.45am. Boys had already completed warm ups and were running through drills. Schoenmakers & Hayes in the rehab group running laps. Both looked like they weren't hampered by any injury so I guess they're working on fitness. No Collard or Sinclair at tr...

Re: Arie Schoenmaker’s club punishment

I've watched quite a lot of Arie during pre-season, and what has stood out to me is his lack of fitness. I can't comment on his character as I don't know him/have never net him, but I assume that he hasn't quite grasped how hard he needs to push himself to attain a level of fitness required to play ...

Thanks for the training updates I'm in Melbourne for the next week and I'm keen to get along and have a look at training. Can anyone tell me which days and what time the sessions start? This week they trained on Mon, Wed & Friday, starting at about 9.30 although the first 30 minutes is usually ...

Re: Training Fri 8/12

Training Friday 8/12 Rehab group: Crouch, Steele, King, Hotton, Owens Van Ess, Wood, O’Connell Drills focused on ball movement, both offensive (ie, moving the ball from halfway line of the ground into the forward line) as well as out of defence. Lots of quick, short, sharp kicks, with most kicks hit...

Quite a few didn't run. Garcia has hamstring tendonitis, which is a concern. Any thought of senior football in 2024 for Garcia can probably be put to bed. With that injury/condition, it might be a while before he can get the work into his legs. Wood has a slight calf issue Steele is coming off ankl...

Byrnes is an absolute list clogger. Butchers the ball more often than not, and has no penetration with his kicking. Yes, he can run all day long, but I cringe every time he has the ball in his hands.

I was as p!ssed off as anyone when Ross walked out on us, but over the years I have had time to reflect and have come to the conclusion that he is the best coach we have had at our club. We have been wallowing in mediocrity since the day he left, and I am desperate to get him back. I miss the feelin...

We need a coach with a hard edge. Someone who can come in and lift standards from the get go. No more BS, no more back slapping, or gifting games to blokes that don’t deserve it.

Sounds like Ross Lyon to me.

I'd have to say that we probably have the worst small forwards in the competition. Butler offers pressure but very little in terms of scoreboard impact, and Higgins offers very little in terms of pressure and is a very unreliable kick for goal. I look at Geelong's small forwards and the way they tur...

I think people forget how good this kid was before his very serious leg injury. Similar to guys that do knees and miss an entire season, they usually take another 12 months to recover their form. I'm confident Paton will be back to his best in 2023.

Re: Brad Hill - trade?

I think that if Brad Hill had come across for $500K and a second round draft choice there wouldn't be as much outrage/disappointment surrounding his output. The fact that he came across for a first rounder + player (Acres) and on $900K brings a certain level of expectation, which he hasn't been able...

Re: Cheerio Matt Finnis - St Kilda CEO since 2014.

Personally I think that Matt Finnis's tenure as CEO has been successful. Not only has he overseen the club return to Linton Street, but has at the same time developed a state of the art facility that would be the envy of most clubs. On top of that, our membership has grown to a fraction under 60K wh...
