Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread

Coming back here after a week or two away on BF is like having a holiday back in the village you were brought up in after many years after moving away to the city and catching up with your old school mates who you still have loads of time for, but you can plainly see the different paths you took in...

Re: Jake Carlisle

Not sure that you understand the deal - yes pick 6 goes to Ess, but pick 20 odd and Carlisle come the other way. We obtain Carlisle and move forward with 2 picks in the top 25. its still massive overs. checked with 3 people that have really good mail, said it definitely wont be for pick 5/6, which ...

Re: Saints homeward bound!!

So we get to SHARE the gym, weights room etc. with Cricket (and yes the sports do overlap during the year), and we get to train on the adjoining oval - not the Junction Oval - that belongs to the cricketers. And the adjoining oval is used by an amateur club for matches during the season (spoiling t...

Re: Rookie Importance

I think it is important to not only nail our picks in the National Draft, but our Rookie Draft picks. Last year we got 2 guys whom established themselves in the lineup with Eli, looking like he may be able to cement a spot this year, and Mav being as consistent as he was. I think it is important th...

Re: GWS: poor list management

they just really needed one genuine superstar when they started out, like ablett for GC, someone to build around

they really need to get one up there, even if they pay considerable overs. if i was them i'd throw money at dangerfield

Re: Saints Interested In Boyd!!

Steven is a great player no doubt but is he the guy you can build a club around ? he had a great year in his B&F year but he had the likes of Dal Lenny and Joey takeing the majority of the heat that year so while it was a breakout year its still yet to be seen if it can be built on - i dont wan...

Re: Membrey, Orourke and Jaksch for pick 1

So what do you guys think? I dont know. Could be a great way to go although then we may miss out on a real talent in Patrecca. We will lack quality talls and need to inject them so these 3 while not top 10 but 10-20 draft picks could be a great way. Not sure how it gets done with Membrey laying for...

Could he be a Stevie J type? No. Agree I think he is similar in player type to Aaron Edwards........West Coast/North/Richmond hes much much much stronger than aaron edwards. aaron edwards was more a shorter, less athletic version of tom lee Well I think that is totally wrong. of course you would. c...

Re: Tim membrey

Someone suggested that we may not be using our 3rd round pick. Given that it will be the first pick on the round, why on earth would'nt we use it? We seem tobe happy with Saunders and Murdoch, and they were both taken about then. if we end up with three first rounders and trade in another 2, who wo...

Re: Tim membrey

I wouldn't use a third on Membry. Pick 47 two years ago and played one senior game. 4/5 rounder at best. Jaksch I'm not overly keen on. I'd prefer to use our 2nd on O'Rourke but seems he's off to Hawthorn. i said third round as the likes of the doggies, essendon, carlton might force our hand Our 3r...

Re: Tim membrey

anything from the 3rd round onwards would be a worthwhile price for membrey. he is extremely strong for his size and extremely accurate on goal. the knock on him was his tank and agility, but it looks like he has worked hard on his tank and is starting to come through would be a very good get at the...
