A lot of the Vatican's wealth is in assets such as Relics and Reglious artefacts that wouldn't be sold under any circumstances, and are entirely appropriately held by the Vatican. And prime land the world over that they've never paid a cent for, nor land taxes on. And tithes from some of the poores...
