Re: Lance Collard
Agree with these comments entirely, looks a lot like home sickness to me, he must have shown something early on as he managed a few games, was even driving Ross' car if I remember clearly

Re: Are we going full tilt in 2024????
Well, now the season appears to be a bust, we should tactically get as much time into the kids as possible,if the by product of this is a lower first round draft pick then great, we only have 2 or 3 'uncomprimised drafts' before the Tassie concessions hit, sides who have list deficiencies in a coupl...

Re: Allan Morrow
Alan Morrow is a very important person in the history of the Saints. He was critical to our premiership win after Big Carl was rubbed out for the finals. He was a vital member of the team from the late 50s and into the 60s as we finally became a respected team and not easy beats . His influence on ...

Re: Team vs Hawthorn
I'm a little worried, Hawks have two big agressive rucks in Reeves and Meek, they could wear Marshall down if he has to basically ruck all day, Owens has been useful as a pinch hit ruck option but not available this round, It looks like our fall back is Caminiti which means he will have to ruck agai...

Re: Zaine Cordy? Really?
I'm just Ok about it, does fill a need, is only 25 and is a premiership player which are in short supply at Moorabbin. I'm a bit worried about his commitment to get the best of himself, wasn't he the bloke in the Bulldogs mad Monday laying comatose of the pavement and later being assisted by Libba o...

Re: Carlisle next season?
Is a must keep for me, structurally we look a lot better with him in the side as it allows Coffield and Wilkie to play on more suitable opponents physically. I think Jake is still feeling the effects of the back injury he had in 2019 and might have been struggling to reach peak fitness hence his fal...

5 Ryder Superb ruckwork, gave us first use out of the centre, did his bit around the ground 4 Steele Great hardworking game, did the heavy lifting 3 Marshall Quiet first half but fantastic second half 2 Paton Kept the dangerous Greene under control all game. 1 Battle Did the job on Haynes plus kicke...

Re: Carlisle? What's his role now?
I think he helps the structure of the side and frees up Wilkie and Coffield to be more attacking. He brings more to the side than just his own possessions and role. I also agree with this statement and other posters, we structure up much better when Carlisle is in the side. It's no co-incidence tha...

Re: Hill
I've been perplexed with Hill all season, why do we stop and kick it sideways or backwards to a bloke standing on the wing is hard to understand. He has no defensive qualities at all, wouldn't know what a contested possession is, people carry on about about 6 or 7 dinky little uncontested kicks, nob...

Re: Max King
I also don't think King is the problem, he is doing his job, when he doesn't mark it he brings it to ground. For me I think the midfield is the issue, it lacks a genuine star. Jack Steele has been very good albeit in tagging roles but Seb Ross has been poor and Brad Hill has underwhelmed this year, ...

Re: Changes v Crows
I think McKenzie has ongoing concussion issues, a bit like Paddy so probably will spend a couple more weeks on the sidelines as a precaution. I would be tempted to s*** Newnnes back to half back and bring Dunstan onto a wing, not a big buyer of Dunstan simply on his disposal skills but he is hard an...

Re: Mr 75%
I notice in all comments in this thread, people are forgetting the elephant in the room, being back at Moorabbin and out of the shithole Seaford has made a big difference in my opinion. We are no longer at a disadvantage to other clubs with our training facilities, you only have to go down there to ...

Whoever played on Tipungwati should get 10 votes, totally irrelevant game by Tippa, think Geary and Webster shared the role. Man of Steele was my next best, did a lot of heavy lifting when the going was tough.

Re: We enter 2018 without one champion player.
I'm in my mid 60's Saints Rising and couldn't agree more, even when we were crap in the early 80's we had at least 1 or 2 A graders most games. We also had a fair list of characters over the journey like Cowboy, Big Carl, Spider Everitt, Lazar Vidovic, G Train etc but the current crop is very bland ...

Re: Craig Davenport, is his club legacy the best of all time
In his first reserves game he kicked 11 goals on Mark Browning in Sydney. I also believe he actually stood out of football as a junior because he wasn't zoned to St.Kilda but wanted to play for us. I stand corrected. It was Mark Browning who hit him. That would be right about the 11 goals. Yes, thi...

Deja Vu
Surely this must be the AFL's attempt at a joke, according to the AFL team list for this weeks game against the Lions, we have been allocated the same 3 umpires from last weeks Eagles fiasco, namely Messrs Donlon, O'Gorman and Harris. Unless it is a misprint, given it is our home game, I can only ho...

Well not quite true Perfectionist, the article is on page 2 of the HS so hardly hidden away, leads off that the alleged offender was a St Kilda supporter, that he was a special guest of the club on the day and was to be granted special access to the St Kilda Rooms after the game, I would have though...

Re: Anyone at the game see this?
Yes, I'm Aaron82's dad and pretty much agree with what he and St Sandy said. First I saw a lady cop leading the 4yo boy around, thought he had just been lost but it was a bit unusual as he was in some sort of gown. Then I saw 2 cops leading this bloke up from the terraces to the walkway and there we...

Re: Umpires
Who are we trying to kid, AFL umpires advisor will come out Monday and say we have reviewed the game and all decisions were warranted. It's this constant denial by those in charge and the umpires coach saying we don't have a problem that prevents umpires actually being accountable and inturn working...

Re: It's only the pre-season BUT......
Skill level deplorable, decision making just as bad, still have too many players on our list that would struggle to get a game at other clubs. I can only hope that when we play the Dees in the season proper the coach plays somebody on Watts, that's 3 games in sucession we have not bothered to play s...
