Re: New CEO
AA was hopeless at the AFL, I don't want him in my club. Then again our board is half hopeless anyway so he could fit right in!

Wow, that has got to be the weakest effort to explain/justify a coach getting sacked that I have ever seen!

Re: Welcome home Mr R Harvey
Honestly why does the guy have to be a good media communicator? Good communication with players - paramount Good communication with staff - just as important Good communication with the board - next most important Good communication with media - don't really care, he could sit silent through all pre...

Re: Scott Watters sacked: Official SS reaction thread
The papers saying that his interview this morning without permission was the final straw but if that got him sacked then that is pretty poor.
The president needs to make an exceptional announcement this afternoon to make this worthwhile.

Re: Brogan to Tribunal for Newnes hit-(broken jaw?)
I can see plenty, we may not be looking at the same footage. Although your double negative may mean that we both agree there was enough to be seen to book him. What I saw: Brogan running at pace, Jack near him they are going to cross paths so Jack braces to check him. Either player would have to hav...

Re: Brogan to Tribunal for Newnes hit-(broken jaw?)
Saw the footage and once again Dean Brogan has again proved how much of a scumbag he really is. He loves hitting our blokes and has been doing so for years. Anyone thinking that Jack Newnes was in the wrong needs to get their head read. Lenny did the right thing by confronting Bogan after the game a...

Re: St Kilda's 2013 jumpers
Last years home strip was the best we have ever had. It made the players look sharper and stronger, a real impact visually. If this years is not too much of a change other than being a bit more stylised (read shoulder padding) then I am all for it. As for the away strip, I never felt or understood t...

Re: Raph Clarke on the move
If we get a half decent pick for him or straight swap that will be a win. Good luck to him but he was a liability for us when he played. Agree he was very courageous but also had no awareness causing turnovers or taking out some of his own men Kosi style. Most teams have a weak link and unfortunatel...

Also Hayes was running the right way towards a chest mark, Ziebell was running the wrong way and had no eyes on the ball.
Don't mind these guys having a go at the MRP cos they got a lot of clout but couldn't they pick a better example? sheesh

Further to that, all workplaces aren't the same and probably should not be.
A lot of people choose to be in their work places because they enjoy the environment for all sorts of reasons.

Interesting argument, I am all for respect but this is also about freedom.
Extraordinary circumstances aside, offensive (non-violent) behaviour needs to be curtailed through education and not being belted over the head with an anvil when you make a mistake.

Re: Milne and OBrien investigation
What is more worrying about this is the outcome by the club. Does our club seriously have little to no balls or brains right now? So many things to hark up about like: Why did they fine him? Couldn't they let the AFL do that? Why shoot one of their own? How was he proven guilty? Why has this gone so...

Re: Milne and OBrien investigation
I hope the club messes with the Integrity Officers head and questions the offence behind the term 'fing homo'.
For instance:
Is it the swearing?
Is it the homo bit? What is offensive about homo? ...oh, homosexual. Ah no, I was referring to his anthropology. Homo Erectus.

Re: Milne and OBrien investigation
OMFG...'fing Homo'. Is that what this is all about? And I am interpreting the story correctly that the investigation was instigated by the umpire, not the players or club! Way to go Margetts, see how far you can get your polished head up your own arse you absolute flog! But seriously though, if Miln...

Sorry, I interpreted that you were an AFL umpire. Another couple of questions for you, and I apologise to everyone else that may be getting bored with this thread but I am finding it fascinating: 1. Have you ever made a mistake officiating a game? 2. How often has this happened? 3. Are you able to r...

So you are an umpire Plugger, thankyou for sharing. You could no doubt offer some valuable insight into the clandestine operation that is the AFL umpiring fraternity. One question I had been desperate to ask is what you think of the constant rule changes, is it a bugbear of yours or not a problem at...

Re: Weekly Crap Umpiring Post
I keep hearing this argument about losing umpires because of the criticism but I don't really buy it. Umpires are leaving or not joining anyway. If they are paid well they will join and if they are worried or get hurt by criticism they need to deal with it or potentially turn it around and be a good...
