Re: Developing our forward line for a tilt at the premiership...

Has everyone written off Jack Hayes?
Not sure why he is not in the discussion about forward line options....

Re: What’s with the midfield?

What was glaring last night was the system and spread by both midfields. Brisbane were very well drilled, spread quickly and received great support from their flankers entering the centre square. Their wings stayed out. We were a rabble, players clapping their hands to be given the ball just so the...

Re: Intra club game

Went to Moorabbin yesterday. Some of my observations have already been posted by others: - Webster, Keeler and Marshall only running laps (separately) - Max had a set shot at goal session and well... missed quite a few - lot of practice plays involving kick-ins, moving into the forward line, etc. ra...

Re: Geoff Walsh on......Geoff Walsh

Thanks for posting this Sanctorum. Interesting that Walsh highlights that clubs need to have a "will to act". I don't think he will have any hesitation advocating changes. His reputation as a hard nut was confimred by a friend of mine who was in the adminstration at Collingwood. He now has...

Re: Let’s get serious

Agrree with everything cwrcyn says about the 2021 season. I hope Lyon not only fixes all of that but brings a game plan that will work. The 2021 season saw a far more attacking style, which is a long way from the defensive style Lyon had last time with us. He will also have a list that does not have...

Think AFL website somewhere said a 2 year deal at Melbourne, but unknown yet if this will get us any compensation pick.

Re: Trade-Draft 2021 Discussion

We lose 287 points for pick 49. We gain: 123 points for pick 62, 80 for pick 66, and anywhere from 207 points down to 19 depending on where Adelaide finish for their 2022 fourth round pick. I think that means we only have a net gain in points if Adelaide don't make the finals in 2022. On the surface...

Re: AGM

whats the comment about the crest being black and white all about ? I didn't pick up the specific piece of kit referred to but it was in response to a member question mailed into the club. The answer focussed a lot on the deal with New Balance ( I think?) and how they were trying out new designs or...

Interesting that Basset makes comment about generating revenue from on field success. Although they say the balance sheet isn't healthy I'm surprised our debt only went up by $1 million in 2020. I'd be interested to see more meat on the bone with regards to Bassets comment regarding finding alterna...

Yeah I was a little disappointed there was no option to avoid the delivery fee by collecting the cap for free from the store at Moorabbin.
The cap this year though looks pretty schmick.

Pretty much the rest of the team not named by B.M. came onto the ground shortly after 9am in white shirts, who were only on the ground for about half an hour when they went back inside, presumably to do gym work. Rest of the guys in orange shirts did full training. Sinclair looks like he's put on mo...

I think it is: list = primary + rookies; 37 = list minimum = 36 primary + 1 rookie; 38 = maximum primary ; 44 = maximum list.

Open Training Saturday 14th December

Some observations from today's open training session at Moorabbin. Around 25 to 30 players engaged in full training. Of the others present, Geary/Roberton/Webster were only kicking the ball to each other, Hanneberry/Joyce/Alabakis were running laps and Hill appeared later on. Did not see Carlisle/Jo...

Don't understand the point about the numbers Ace - Joyce's upgrade must have counted as one of the 3 selections required at the national draft, even though rookie upgrades don't get mentioned in the press as selections.

Big call by Gallagher that Bytel is the reason they are comfortable not having a first round pick this year.
