Re: New draftees arriving this week - Tony74

There’s not much I can report at this stage. They’re all genuinely good kids. They’re not participating in any match skills etc but working together on fitness etc, talking to the dieticians etc. I you get a chance to have a look at them ( Sandy ,Sat morning for those interested) feast your eyes on...

Re: Jaxons come on down

Just been looking at the AFL trade tracker. They have the Koby Stevens deal now showing as deal 39 lodged at 1.58PM. The last deal lodged before 2:00PM dealine. One minute later would have been fine, two minutes later the deal gets rejected. The AFL indicative draft order still can't sort out Carlt...

Re: Potential Quartet for 2017 finals and beyond

Petracca, Dunstan, Billings and Stevens supported by Armitage, Curran, Saunders and co. That's a handy mid field that has grunt, class and pace. What are your thoughts? We haven't seen a lot of him bit I reckon the temperature has a lot of potential. Agree with this. I think he's seen as a bit of a...

Re: which of our young players could become elite?

Actually elite, probably quite limited prior to last year. Billings has a lot of upside once he calms the nerves; his ability to be in the right place may be uncanny and I expect to see his touted contested marking come through too. Acres a possibility, Dunstan not in strict ability but a terrific f...

Re: The official unofficial delistings thread

Skeptic - agree on Dunell. Good skills , terrific overhead for his size, good character. I agree he probably doesn't have an enormous 'trick', but I'm still surprised he hasn't played more. I still think Ferguson, Lever, TDL would be my first outs. Then, move on a couple of experienced players for p...

Re: Young Saunders...

I can at least understand a perception against Ledger from the coaching staff - even if he simply has to be given a burst in the latter part and really not sure why it's taken this long - but I just do not understand Dunell at all. He just looks a couple of classes above VFL. Maybe it's a lack of cl...

Re: WE'LL GET A DEFENDER IN THE DRAFT YOU SAID... U WERE WRO

ahhh right... now I get it. I was wondering why so many of you are moaning that we didn't get Clruey or Gartlett or whatever their names are. I mean why are these guys so special out of all the other recruits we didn't take. Then I stumbled across the Herald Sun phantom draft. The names that bunch ...

Can I get a summary of Ferguson from those that see him regularly? I've seen him play only briefly - obviously very athletic, but his kicking style is ungainly at best. How is his kicking? Marking? Why would he not have been elevated post-season if he was such a prospect (just a case of still develo...

I saw Watters comment on Lenny too - bizarre. His bio sounds almost the opposite! Lenny eats the inside stuff and this kid is a linker. Perhaps the younger HFF Lenny where his class was always evident early? Anyway, perhaps they sense they snuck one here.

And back on topic, yeah I think it's a real shame actually. But, nonetheless, if it was just explained why then I'm sure we'd understand. No, she really doesn't have a voice for footy actually. Lacks confidence and a fair bojan.

Not often that Ross sounds that enthused, actually. He was certainly very positive about Cripps and was very unlike Ross in predicting he would play relatively early on next year.

Ha ha, priceless. Heyne equals BJ in kicking prowess. If he could get the ball (who has his average disposals at Sandy?) we could see for sure, but from what we have seen that is wildly optimistic. I think Lyon's style is conducive to very hard workers developing well - think Jones, Geary, Eddy, Gil...

Thought we moved the ball a little better today than we have for most of the year. One of our top couple performances. It actually wasn't only the final quarter missed shots - we should have buried them long before that. So bad kicking is bad footy, but goal kicking can turn quickly and we certainly...

I put my hand up on Gwilt. I never quite understood how he was getting games in previous years; a bit of a nothing player I thought. Nothing horrible about him, but had little input, little spark. But boy I like him as a defender and have done so since the start of the season. Measured, composed, go...
