Re: Training Reports Monday 31st
Melbourne weren't fit in 2019. They recognised it, took action, and in 2021 were the fittest team in the competition. What an incredibly direct outfit they looked. They pocketed some decent players after 2019 which helped, and in 2021 they had a dream run with injuries, but without the improvement ...

Re: The mongrel punt. Preseason preview
This is really well researched, it's worth paying $6 for access, I tried to post it with the members only bit unlocked on Bigfooty and I got a friendly message from the author asking not to so I won't do it here either. They are consistently the best researched footy journalists left and independent...

Re: 2022 trade period
I know it seems to be self defeating but I hope that the Suns keep King and their core together. I'm not sure he's the best use of our resources on top of that but get the appeal at the same time. The Suns have done the ground work to be a very good team. I can see them doing a Brisbane at some poin...

Re: D Mac
Not sure 2021 was his first good season In 2018 he finished 10th in the B&F in 13 games I don't know about on here but on Big Footy he was a whipping boy. He was a bit of a panicked disposer in the rebound back role and people found him stressful to watch. That t urns into open disdain on line....

Re: D Mac
DMac is a credit to himself how he has persevered and improved his game. I would have him in our starting 22 now as his two way running, ability to hit the score board, his strength in the air and his kicking are now best 22. Seb Ross is a work horse and been a great foot soldier for the club, but ...

Re: My chrissie present too
I was going to buy one but the wife is still shitty about me wasting money on crypto so it's been shelved. I would love to have done it. It's a great opportunity to get a permanent pledge. I was excited a few years ago when the people who donated to Moorabbin got their name up on a temporary board a...

Re: Saints add son of club great to Next Generation Academy
St Kilda have confirmed Boston Everitt, son of club great Peter, has joined the Saints' Next Generation Academy for the 2022 season. Boston has been previously affiliated with the Saints' junior ranks, having been part of their 'Futures' squad in 2019 as an U15s prospect. The teenager is now in lin...

Re: Saints add son of club great to Next Generation Academy
Had of stayed We win the flag in either 04 or 05 Only missing ingredient was a good ruckmen Absolutely A testament as to why you don’t trade champions away for potentials and less thans We got 6 and 22 for him Traded that for Barry Brooks (along with pick 31) and drafted Matthew Ferguson at 22 Not ...

Re: Nick Coffield
What injury did Coffield have last year? He was dropped at one stage. Acres, like Coffield was massively overrated by supporters who were wanting him to be good… Acres was hyped on hope. I think that Nick had a really good 2020, he started the year lucky to hold his spot but by the time the season ...

Re: Is Wood any Good?
North mates thought he was going to be a star, then injury and consistency conspired against him and every time promise was shown he seemed to break down. He's talented but just doesn't seem to be able to get it all on the park with any continuity.

Re: What is Ratt’s coaching philosophy?
It was very distinctive in the first half of 2020 Roll numbers up to the contest, and spread forward like f*** Lots of speed on the ball… we were the quickest ball moving team at that point in time Then it was counteracted when teams held their defensive 6 and kept shape behind the footy … Geelong ...

Hopefully he's a B Goddard slow burn and will step up. Clark and Coffield will both be getting to the age Steele was when he really went from an okay tagger to a gun.

Re: Herald Sun St Kilda 2022 preview: Season predictions for the Saints
I reckon we’ll win five and I’d be happy with that It looks like a soft start for the first time in years, we should get a fast break if we make the most of it and hopefully momentum carries us forward. We were 4-1 in 2019 after five rounds and The Age declared us "The story of the season"...

Re: Knocking on the door. Max Heath
Knocking on the door for Sandringham maybe He’s a mile off… long term prospect Agree we needed to invest in a up & coming ruck man & Max is a good pick up but he is not ready for what's required to compete with the bigger bodied & more experienced blokes ATM IMO 204cm and 94kg. That's p...

Seb Ross Top Ten in the B&F 7 years in a row Won 2 … runner up once Yep 5/10 You are right, a bit..I give him 6/10. He is a bit of an enigma for me, and was so I was disappointed I am biased. I suppose he is a real quiet achiever and it need not be necessarily an intensity thing. He is still in...

Re: Herald Sun St Kilda 2022 preview: Season predictions for the Saints
Good article. Of the big improvers next year, I think she is spot on with King and Clark. My Smokey is Byrnes (if not 2022 then 2023) - but he is going to find it hard to get into our best 22 in 2022 if we have a full complement. Hope I have better luck with my predictions than I did this year - I ...

Re: Nick Coffield
Who would you play between Highmore and Coffield? Case in point. Everyone was bagging Highmore at the start of the year and look what happened as he got more comfortable. I thought the recruiters had been sampling a few psychedelics when we recruited Sharman....another speculative third tall. He'd ...

Re: Nick Coffield
His 2020 started slowly but by the end of the season he was nearly AA quality as a loose intercepting defender. He seems very flat footed and likes to mark and distribute. Highmore is almost a carbon copy of him but has a taller vibe about him and looks a better accountable type of intercept defende...

Re: Mid Season Draft
It sounds as if we are all in on Ben King according to Stavro on Big Footy. Potentially trading out Battle and Billings to get him and probably a first round pick if we are dealing with Gold Coast who need to save face. Thoughts? Not my preference to be honest. Still need to a do bit of work getting...

Re: Another one for the lost dogs home
Hill is exactly what we need.... Recruiting is about what the list needs as much as the quality of player. Hill is more important to St Kilda than possibly another team because we lack line breakers with speed and class. Saying that that type of player is very important to any team they are rare. B...

Re: Pre-season trade period
You would end up with top clubs just raiding bottom clubs every year. It's going to be like AFL apartheid. Poor clubs can make up numbers so the big boys can play finals.
