Not a good game and not much to be happy about . However : The second half was a huge improvement on the first . Goddard is a real star . Goose looks like he will be OK . Steven will be a plus this year . McEvoy could make it . (but needs more time . maybe 2010 ) . Still plenty of time 'til round 1 .

Don't know much about Carroll , or the off field problems , but he has played some good games against us over the years .
I can see him being pretty handy for our defence for 2 or 3 years . But if he's a problem off the field that would have to be sorted out .

There are plenty of arguments for and against taking Cousins . But , to threaten to cancel your membership over a bloke that has never pulled on the RW&B jumper is a smack in the face for some great past players that were traded or delisted for whatever reason .
