Re: Sandringham vs Port Melbourne Sat 17th

Stand out for me was Seb Ross, he played four good quarters and was the best on the ground. Winmar was also very good especially in the first half. The Minch was also impressive sneaking goals in the second half. Wilkes is NOT a backman, he looked lost until he moved forward in the second quarter. A...

Re: Bitter opposition supporters

I have been effectively going to Saints games for 32 years and I've heard my share of bad language (and in the past probably used my share). I've been to games at Victoria Park in the 'bad old days' and copped abuse. The reason I've mentioned that is so you don't think I'm naive or easily shocked. ...

Thought King was really good in the second half, and also had a good second half last week against the cats, I also agree that a 2 genuine ruck strategy is important to our structure. Gwilt very good and not much chance of being dropped IMO. His disposal is excellent and is very attacking with his ...

He will not make way, I think King will go for Kosi and he may play rotating ruck / forward? Do I need to say again how happy I am Gwilty is in the side? :) Nice thread title by the way...I am personally hoping the thread title about Geary can be changed to 'stepping it up a geary' The fact ...

he may get dropped this week. Who else will get dropped for kosi?

Ross Lyon clearly prefers Raph's run through the lines, which he showed today. they will have to drop Gwilt or Zac I reckon.

More likely because of the frequent injury Raph now has a weakened hamstring, much more prone to tearing etc. Soon to join Xavier at Brisbane. Was it genetics or were these two sloppy with their stretching exercises earlier in their careers? They both have failed to deliver because of hamstring fai...

Thought y'all might be interested in this 10 year old pilot that just popped up on iView where John Safran burns himself on St Kilda beach in full Saints gear in protest of Spider Everitt's suspension. http://www.abc.net.au/tv/iview/[/url] Go to the URL above and click on "John Safran: The lost...

Big difference Milan. In 65 we moved from one playing venue to another and then created our own history at the new venue. But we will never play a game at Seaford. It is purely a training ground. Nothing else. There is no emotional attachment. StFid I am sorry if my rantings against the Kingston Co...

Re: AFL Draft 2001 Revisited

That 2001 draft is really coming back to haunt us now. Let's have another crack at it: Pick 2 - Chris Judd (instead of Luke Ball) Pick 5 - Jimmy Bartel (instead of Xavier Clarke) Pick 13 - Nick Dal Santo Pick 21 - Steve Johnson (instead of Matt Maguire) Pick 37 - Leigh Montagna Pick 49 - Dane Swan ...

Why would you assume he is more worried about his modelling career when his sponsor on that site is Telstra, he posts it via Telstra 3G and it's for Telstra promotion, and he says "Me as a model, certainly doesnt come naturally." And it's dated 30 September. Yep, sounds like he's more wor...

Re: The recycled ones

Just a quick observation, one that annoyed me at the game and was backed up again by the statistics in this mornings paper. Much had been made prior to the GF of the club's recent ability to draft or trade for 'quality' players from other clubs, and the manner in which RL had managed to forge them ...

arguably our best player in the finals. Kept Leon Davis, Jason Akermanis and Stev Johnson Goalless . not too many players could do that in a season let alone 3 consecutive weeks. A cracking effort. Super effort. They are the three best small/mid forwards in the afl. Game winners in BIG matches all ...

It is a dreadful Sunday in Tassie, weather wise. I watched you Sainters at the Family Day gathering supporting the boy. Very proud of you guys. As to me, I had a rather strange feeling at the end of the game. Non of the devastation I experienced in 1997. It felt to me like a boxing match. Lost firs...

Never write off a best and fairest winner. He has a premiership in him. The players WILL be back to get what is theirs. Baker will fight like a rabid dog.

The mighty saints will rise again and Baker will hold the Cup in the air with his tatty bandages wrapped around his grinning, bruised up head.

Baker doubters

Me thinks there are a few people on this forum who owe Bakes an apology.

He was awesome yesterday and the amount of crap that was said about him (last year and pre-season) being too old and past it was bollocks!!

No one fights and scraps likes Baker. He is a saints legend.
