Austinn Jones

As most of you well know, former Saints champion Aussie Jones is now senior coach of VFL team Bendigo Gold. You may also know that the Gold in it's inaugural stand alone year since it's parting with Essendon, are winless, sitting on the bottom of the ladder and will probably have another 100+ point ...

Re: Sandy v Bendigo Bombers

So is Bendigo the GWS of the VFL? if they're not then they are definitely the modern day 1980 Saints.... Can't really see Bendigo Gold as the GWS of the league, as they will never earmarked by the VFL to be fast-tracked to a Premiership in the next few years as the AFL's Suns/Giants Probably more l...

I was there that day. It was the Saints very first AFL game (also Chris Grants debut for the Dogs) It was during the height of Pluggers reign at St Kilda

Re: Can anyone clarify??

No, the kids aren't reading this forum. They're interest in The Saints has dropped dramically in recent times, which I put down as being an early teenage thing. The oldest threatened to convert to the Filth about a month ago, but after explaining to her all about loyalty, family tradition and of cou...

You'll be right mate - they only differentiate when an adult tries to come through using a child/ concession card if at all. When you get in sit in the area dedicated to saints hubby's whose wives have left them for filth supporters ( you'll be amazed how big it is!!) Enjoy the win! Thanks Teflon. ...

Ha ha, Yep, and this was from the same woman who was crying uncontrollably over the Saints GF loss against The Filth in October '10, and by February '11, left me for a Filth supporter! -talk about Salt in the wound.

This may sound like a silly question, but even though I've been a member for years, being from country Victoria, I rarely actually go to the games. Throughout the year, I perodically pay for 4 memberships. One for me, two for my daughters and one for my former wife (Who left me early last year for a...

I was on the wing that miserable day. You're right, after he hit the ground, he wasn't the same for the rest of the game.

Re: Let's play like it's 1992!

Are you sure it was played at Waveley? Pretty sure that was at the MCG, and we played the Bulldogs the following week at Waveley. (and were sadly beaten. The highlight of that day was probably the most spectacular mark Plugger ever took)

Where's Holden? Hard to believe that a company that produces Australias most popular car, have no involvement, whatsoever, in Australia'smost popular sport. I think it looks okay. Much, Much better than last years effort. Doesn't come near our first pre season jumper in 1996. That looked fantastic. Best alternate jumper ever. Nothing will ever beat our traditional three-paneled jumper but, as this is just for the summer 'kick & giggle' comp, variati...

Would you wear it?

Looking at the clearance items for sale on The Saints site, I noticed a T-shirt heavily reduced to $15. Now usually, any clothing item to do with the Saints, at that price, it's a given that l will buy it. However.... This T-shirt is different. It boldly states 'St kilda -Grandfinalists 2010' which ...

The 1996 Ansett Cup. Although preseason premierships are worth little these days, back then every side fielded a full strength team and wanted to win. A preseason cup was highly rated. At that stage of my life I'd only seen St.Kilda play in three finals over a long period. I'd known losing to be th...

I feel sorry for kids who may have saved up to buy either version of the 2010 jumpers, only to have them outdated before the years end!

The home jumper with the white collar and cuffs with a black line through it lasted for 10 years, the all white collar and cuff version of 2010 lasted a season!

Knocking off Carlton in 1995. We were hopeless, they were world-beaters, and we smashed them in the wet. Remember that day well. Over the recent years we've christened our lame alternate jumpers with different names like 'Hot cross bun', 'Candy stripe', 'faded apron, etc.

I think I'll do the honours for the new clash strip.... -If it's all right with you guys of course.

Bold, clear and unmistakingly St kilda from a distance.
