Re: The non holding the ball free

Yes, that was a blatant miss. How could he miss that ? That is a good question. He couldn't have, just chose not to pay it. Just as bad was the free against Wilkie on Lobb for an arm chop and resulting goal. Clearly no arm chop, not even close. So does the most experienced umpire in the league just ...

Re: The Caldwell conundrum

If he thinks he'd find it hard to get into our midfield it shows he lacks confidence in his ability.
At the money he is chasing I'm not fussed at missing out.

Re: Ben Long One Week

The jury were asked to imagine what injury could have happened ?
So they imagined medium impact.
Why not imagine high impact ?
How do you imagine an outcome ?
What a joke.

Re: How we beat GWS

I think the way to beat the Giants is speed and ball movement like Richmond. Put Geelong under enormous pressure and unraveled their game. We played more similar to this earlier in the year with more success than recently. I realize we've lost speed in Jones and Hind but with better disposal the mov...

Could be wrong but I think Ryan is an avid Cats fan.
Now I despise the Cats more than any team but he is very experienced.
So happy enough for this game.

Hopefully we don't get him in the GF vs Cats !

Re: Geoff Cunningham is on Open Mike tonight

My memories of him are a gutsy, take no prisoners player. Multiple selections for the Big V and an incident where his face was horribly rearranged and he just wanted to go back on !
Was proud to be a sainter watching Joffa play

Re: Jones hamstrung

The way I see it it has to be Hannaberry in for Jones. No use saving him for finals because if it's suspect it'll let us down then. The string must be right for more than a week after surgery. Supposedly they found "funky stuff" there. Carlisle back in to replace Hunter in the back line. H...

Quality player.
If we play finals he's got a game under his belt.
No brainer.

Re: So the club just put this online..

Thanks Bigred.

I'm very confident we'll win this. Giants looked gassed to me with the likelihood of some leaving at year's end.

Great speech by Ratts.
Puts the ball in the player's court. How many have played in a final ?
Not many.
Do they want it ?
Let's see.

I reckon so :-)

Thanks Jaxons.

What a player ! Ticked every box as a full forward.
His kicking style should be in the football text book.

Why is it so difficult to replicate ?
There's been plenty of skillful players since but I don't recall many as good a kick.

Re: $19 per month for 19 months ... your thoughts?

I think the idea is a good one. Mainly because I don't want to see us fold and I think something like this will be needed to prevent that. However, like anything in life , people want to see or know what they are getting for their money. That's going to be hard for any promises to be made when the t...

Re: Fremantle Demands Two First Round Picks For Hill

We are now in a similar position as geelong and Jack.

Hill doesn't want to play at freo next year and has a personal need to relocate.

I reckon they will bend over at the last gasp for 12 or even 18.

We may get shafted by the hillbillies but we can repeat the formula to Freo.

Get tough saints.

Re: What’s the latest on Jack Steven?

Well as far as draft picks goes we can barely pick our nose.

So the rubbish pick Geelong give us will be useless.

May as well as sit him out for the year and show the comp we aren't pushovers.

Same with Bruce.

Both contracted players.

Re: Josh Bruce to be traded?

I will be very disappointed if Josh goes. He's a player I can expect to have a real crack every game. We are light on for forwards now with JB and TM. We had as many forward entries as WCE this year yet scored 257 less. Losing JB is going to compound this in the short term. I can see Josh at CHF and...

Re: Needs to be done through the draft.

I agree SS. We need to offer overs to get anyone valuable to come. There's only so many times we can do that until team salaries become unbalanced and or we hit our cap without the complete team. We need to keep unearthing gold like Marshall,Wilkie,Parker,Gresh etc that don't cost the farm. To do th...

Nathan has been a fantastic inside mid. I've always admired his attitude.

Re: Our forward entries

I actually disagreed wirh Healy. Adelaide pressured our midfield, which allowed them to force poor entries. They pressured us, which slowed us down. Slowing us down, allowed them get numbers back. We don't have Darling and Kennedy down there, so the bomb doesn't work. We don't have Rioli and Ryan a...

Our forward entries

I couldn't have agreed more with Gerard Healy on Fox last night when he showed frustration at our forward entries. Why do we kick it over a leading forward's head continually ? Basic footy teaches to kick short to a forward in front and let him run into the ball. Negating the defender right there. I...
