Of course it's important to have quality defenders. But you need an attacking mind-set to win games and finals. I think Battle plays a game that's somewhat similar to Sicily's (I agree Sicily is a level above). Whereas Battle complemented Wilkie in a way (noting that Wilkie plays closer, tighter). He should be aiming for a podium finish next year... or for another 5th, at least.
