Re: Ticketing for game this weekend

Great, thanks for the advice. I've been an interstate member for 10 years and never actually benefitted from the 5 free home games despite going to games in Melbourne yearly and buying tickets. What an idiot.

Ticketing for game this weekend

I'm flying to Melbourne for the game on Saturday - can I walk up with my membership card and get in the gate or do I have to pre-arrange tickets in some way? Pardon my ignorance but usually when I attend matches I end up having to buy tickets despite being a member because I'm usually attending with...

Don't want to get shot down here but I see Joey as seriously tradeable. He's and experienced, skilled outside type midfielder and plenty of teams would be interested. For some reason intangible I just see him as one to let go.....maybe it's his annoying appearances on Channel 7 commentary this year?

True, True.....time will tell. Too bad we all have to get through a long summer before we will know anything about where we are at.

Oh well. Fortius Quo Fidelius, I'm not going anywhere.

Re: Sentiment in football.

Why would we keep guys on purely because of sentiment? I don't think he should have been kept on the list. I just think symolic gestures are important.....by Round 7 2010 feelings had been dealt with already, Im sure that didn't have any effect on Max or the players around him. With the focus on de...

True, but that's Collingwood. What I'm saying is that I wish our club could stand apart and do things differently.

The bigger issue there was him leaving to coach Collingwood! Could we have done things differently to prevent that happening? That's what I'm getting at. Surely giving Max the proper goodbye he deserved, some sort of sentimental notion at the time (NOT the next season) would have changed things. He...

Sentiment in football.

I'm sitting in in the post-disappointment haze and started philosophizing......is there any room in football for sentiment nowadays? The "retirement" of Bakes in particular leaves an empty feeling. Surely if it was known he was to be pushed a few weeks ago, there could have been some symbo...

When was the last time (apart from R. Harvey) that one of our long serving players was farewelled properly? Should have given Bakes a proper farewell at some point in the year. Ross's lack of sentiment has sucked this club dry which is a shame.

By that logic, why drop any player who is out of form? And I'm sure there's plenty of kids playing for Sandy who would relish the opportunity to have a chance to play a game with him, and they're kids that should be playing in our senior side anyway. Agree with you Wraiyth, there are plenty of kids...

So Riewoldt playing for Sandy will magically play him into form? And meanwhile the young, up and coming players miss out on his inspiration (which we can't expect to see or appreciate from the sidelines/TV screens) while he misses goals for Sandy? Doesn't make sense to me. He's worth more than anoth...

There are also people on here who expect a reasonable contribution from their captain....go figure.... We ALL expect a reasonable contributing from ALL of our players, but the fact is that a player of Riewoldt's capacity has "earnt" a dip in form and it would send the wrong message...

Re: Integrity of selection

Time to put your money where your mouth is Ross. Sam gilbert has been a very good player for this team in previous years but he has had 13 games now to find form and is a still an absolute liability. Guys like lynch and Walsh are pushing for selection and deserve to be rewarded. I hate to say it bu...

Hmmm.... No SaintPeter, Thinline just seems to have a grasp of SARCASM, something it seems may be travelling a little above your head.

Being one who spent years standing in the outer at Moorabbin supporting this club, and who sat in the stands at our grand finals, I have every right to point the finger. We have walked away with nothing when it was up for grabs, and prelims and draws mean nothing. Well.......I think it would have b...

I am certain that this is what Roo thinks himself and I am very confident aht he will do exactly that Doubt it. Roo will go about next week the same he does every week, he'll look at some numbers, some vision, he'll go for a swim on a freezing beach somewhere, then he'll train, then he'll line up i...

Roo has to answer this criticism...this is a serious situation when the captain and a champion is being questioned by loyal saints fans, many of long standing..and the questions being raised are reasonable. He is having a less than great (but still well passable) season for the first time in a deca...

Reasonable????? Really? Have I missed something? Nick Riewoldt deserves nothing but admiration, respect and gratitute from St. Kilda fans. 12 games of poor form and he has something to answer to US? I don't understand.
