Re: Part 2: Apparently he didn’t interview very well
Mark Williams is the most under-rated AFL coach. He took Port to a premiership with very little support. He also knows football inside out. His father Fos Williams was one of the greatest ever coaches and Mark was playing senior football under his father from age 17 long before he went to Collingwoo...

Re: The Grand Final - who'll win and why
I can't pick a winner in this one, will need to mull it over until I am swayed by the comments of lazy experts in the media and then regret going with the "vibe".

Coaching amnesty
Hi all, I propose that we have an amnesty on all comments relating to changing coach. If you have teed off before, if you are harbouring grudges or think changes are necessary then let's forgive and forget. My view is we have a very good coach. One who by any yardstick has outperformed better creden...

Re: Poker machines
Pokies have provided a good cash flow pre-Covid but copied from the 2020 Annual report, the CEO’s report: Social Club: The Moorabbin Social Venue operated for 143 days during the period as a result of the forced closure of the venue on 22 March 2020 due to Victorian Government restrictions. For the ...

Re: Poker machines
I've sent an enquiry to the club to find out what the position on poker machines is, i.e. whether they intend to keep them or exit as some other football clubs have done.

Does the club have an exit strategy for poker machines or do they intend to keep them?

Re: Saints to re-jig game plan.
I always thought this year was wide open and it is proving to be with no real favourites going into the finals. It is a real shame the Saints aren't there. Obviously it has been an up and down season but there is no reason they cannot compete next year for the flag.

Re: Culture of St Kilda Football Club
The decision to move to Seaford was bad. That really hampered the club for a number of years putting all other things aside. We are in a solidifying stage under current admin and coaching staff. Glad to hear they are looking at how to strengthen the club because it can go backwards very quickly if t...

In retrospect, the AFL should have had a 4 week period where they got 6 games in for each club to buy themselves a 2 week contingency for lockdowns.

Play West Coast game at Kardinia Park
Can the Saints start lobbying to get our upcoming match with West Coast played at Kardinia Park. After all, it is the socially responsible thing to do - Covid and all.

Re: For once in his life, Gary Lyon sticks up for Saints players
Is he sticking up for a saint player or sticking up for his good Mate Tim Watson's nephew? Exaclty right, Tim is not going to say anything as it is his nephew and he has a long running history with Caroline Wilson, so he has just fed Lyon with his family's view on the matter and let Garry Lyon take...

Re: Seb Ross, Tim Membrey, Jake Carlisle family leave.
Who should be sacked for leaking to Caroline Wilson in the first instance? What a pathetic management St Kilda has. Someone has clearly leaked this to Caroline Wilson. She is then just doing her job by publicising the matter. Then the Garry Lyon comments are an easy thread to follow as Tim Watson is...

Re: Maintaining the Rage
Garry Lyon is a very poorly researched commentator. He will make inane comments such as "I haven't seen enough of XXXX player or XXXX team". Usually they are a non-Victorian team. He thinks it is still the VFL. He has very little idea about anything outside of Victoria. Why he is employed ...

Re: We are the highest scoring team in the comp
We are an excitement machine. If we make finals, the Saints will be a danger team in a low scoring competition, because as we've seen if you can kick a few goals it means the other team has to catch up. Sure North and Freo did that but it does put you in the box seat and it is easier to go defensive...

Re: A big difference from last year to this year
Great post by perfectionist.
Skill level is just crucial this year with shortened quarters and less fatigue (and lack of crowd factor). If a team can maximise hitting targets then they should win. Our skill level is looking better.

Re: Why trade away so many picks?
It's a vote of no confidence in our ability to develop players. Maybe that vote is justified. I would prefer it if we developed our ability to develop players - that would be a route to sustained long-term improvement imo. Ace Frehely makes a very good point, our player development has been poor. I...
