Free against in their goal square - awful decision

Stanley vs Mumford in a ruck contest... Poor skill on the umpire's part sees the ball go sideways, and Ben McEvoy, being the tallest man around the ball, plucks it out of the air. Free kick awarded, with a ruling that suggested that the umpires felt Stanley was boxing Mumford out so that McEvoy coul...

We're the Saints-80's theme song-link to Soundcloud Player

I linked to this on another thread which had been recently resurrected, but I thought for ease of discovery, I would post it to it's own thread. http://soundcloud.com/loewebrow/were-the-saints-remastered The above link is the great 80's Saints Theme song that would blare around Moorabbin during that...

the upload you've been looking for!

This thread being resurrected inspired me to upload the 80's theme song in question...

Clearly the recording has come from an old cassette tape, and needed a fair amount of cleaning up to remove hiss and other noise. Enjoy!

Wierdly, I'd say 60% of Q49, where we were, was Collingwood. We were in the very back row (MM in the Olympic), and our row, and the two in front of us were mostly Saints (a patch of Collingwood just down the row), but then there were about 4 pies rows, a few more Saints rows, more pies and so on. We...

Banger to return to the club!

Great news from the club, at a time when the value of loyalty, determination, and stealing ideas that work at other clubs can't be underestimated!

My understanding is that they won't split a group registration. So there could be, say, 2,000 seats left but only in groups smaller than eight. Since they draw the registrations randomly, if you have registered for eight tickets you could end up with standing room when a group of seven (or four, or...

Logic. At some point during the ballot there will be no more groups of eight seats available. If you have registered for eight tickets and your registration is not drawn before then, you will get standing room or nothing. Therefore you have an increased chance of getting seats with a smaller group....

Ticket Allocation - GF

Does anyone out there in the Saintsational world have an insight, or an educated guess, as to how the ticket allocation for registered Social Club members might work? Does the ticketing agency randomly select a registration number, attempt to allocate the number of seats requested as part of that re...

Ordinary football fans are contributing hundreds of millions of dollars a year to this competition in memberships, seating, food and beverages, merchandise and additional events. The least I expect is that when I turn up to watch a match, holding the ball means the same thing it did last week, a mar...

Dale Thomas' jumper punch

Anyone want to have stab at explaining why Dale Thomas wasn't even sighted by the MRP for his jumper punch Friday night against Port? I know it's too much to expect consistency, but am I not right in saying that AA and the umpiring fraternity pledged to crack down on off the ball incidents? From my ...

I'm not sure what your are asking... It's obviously not a jumper form '66, and it's not a piece of AFL or club issued memorabilia, so it's kind of the equivalent of buying a "Coco Channel" bag on a street in Thailand! It has the right colours, and commemorates a terrific moment for our clu...

The inference I drew from what Walls said was that there aren't two journos employed full time to dig for dirt, just two people on staff at the Feral Scum, scouring Facebook and taking tipoffs about after hours activities. Lowest common denominator journalism. Who's surprised? It's the same story wi...

For interest only... Could any of the statistically minded amongst us find out what the lead up to Senior debut was for some of the other Irish crossover players floating around in the AFL at the moment... Did they spend a few years in development in the VFL? Were they elevated off the rookie list e...

Davis' hit on Fisher should have resulted in a free kick too. It doesn't matter how the contact came about, and if it was intentional or not, but head high contact is prohibited... The fact that play continued, and the ball ended up back in Collingwood's forward line 15m from a downed player was sha...

I have the saints premiership piece (one of 65) which is very nice, I also have a game worn 66 jumper signed by the player who wore it in the match If it's not asking too much, what is the "saints premiership piece" of which there are only 65? And which player jumper have you got from 66?...
