Re: Position shifts 2025

I fear Michito will have a short career as a 3rd tall forward. Whatever they’re doing… kid needs to be able to run and keep up his agility. Good as he is… he isn’t a Tim Membrey type elite mark. Needs to be more about power and impact in the contest I would hate to see him baulk up too match and ge...

Re: Change in age demographic

Aren't we putting Crouch on the rookie list? Anyway, I would like to think that we would definitely be going to the draft (esp for our first two picks) right up until the Tasmania team comes in. This year I sincerely we hope we pick two pure midfielders. Because key position defenders you can get a...

Re: Rookie Ruckman We Are Into

Back to recruting Barron Trump, and the possible 'political advantages'... Nope. Not into this one. He's from wrong mob. We want a Democrat! We need their tech' for directing hurricanes. Then, we play as many matches as possible away from Dockedlands. And the matches played there, the roof is open....

Re: Tuohy on Bolton.

Neeld and Watters totally disrespected the senior core of players the first day they walked in the door. A fatal error and unthinkably bad management. Both had been under the guidance of Mick Malthouse. I suspect he gave them some poor advice on how to approach their first senior coaching gigs. Aft...

Re: Robbo: No-man’s land Saints can’t afford to fluff picks 7 and 8 again

Clark and Coff had serious injuries which kept them on the sidelines for long periods, if not for that, then they may have realised their full potential as very good players. If De Kooning and Balta had had serious injuries, they may never have played finals etc etc. Maybe Robbo has a crystal ball?

Re: The God-Draft Trade

In last year's Elimination Final our bottom 6 were Caminiti, Cordy, Butler, Phillipou, Windhager and Stocker. Crouch got 21 touches but he was as bad as the bottom 6. Only 2 clearances and 2 tackles for the day and he was left in his wake by the speedier GWS mids. Marshall was voted best on (for th...

GT probably stating the bleedin' obvious- Lyon is not a development coach and wasn't brought back to do so. Jones probably deserves another season after good late season form this year, so good on him, but he we need to hope he can play a full season in 2025 without major injuries...same for any pl...

Re: Membery or Hayes or both gone ?

Would like to see Membrey go around for another season, and although I like Patto, I don't think he has fully captured his form of pre leg break, though could be a useful player. Hayes as a mature recruit has played a handful of senior AFL games in his career, and may be prone to further leg injurie...

Re: Jack McCrae

Without going to any official statistics, my observation would be that Marshall was far and away our best clearance player, following up on his ruck work by getting hands on the ball Past that, support was forthcoming from Clark after his return from injuries (and on managed time) So there was a pr...

Re: 9 reasons why St Kilda fans should be positive heading into 2025

Positives for sure, but now it's up to the club to get back into the finals ASAP, as we have the talent if we can keep them all on the field for a season- we are still a couple of really good players away from flag contention though. Having been a Saint supporter for a very long time, I won't believ...

Hayes made an impact in his first game with us a few years back, then played a couple of reasonable games and got injured and never been the same, so might be better he looks for other opportunities.

Responding to Big Max I agree about Collard. Wasn't he banned for 8 wks for 'homophobic' comments. I used his name purely as an example of a youngster who may usurp Butler's spot. Also, agree on Butler not getting a game at most clubs. Based on 2024 numbers, I'd be stunned if he gets picked for Rd ...

Re: Core of our next 🏆

What a pity we haven't got at least two more flags, considering the talent we have had, and really there's no excuse for this club- it has failed continually, no matter how close or how far away we were. I think as an organisation, the club has needed to toughen up from top to bottom for a long time...
