Re: Bulldogs 2016!
Big picture people - I just thought there defensive structures and movement out of defence was very good. I also thought which many do, that Beveridge would have been a great acquisition for us.

Bulldogs 2016!
Did you watch the Bulldogs game last night - gees they are a well drilled side now - Hawthorn esq. Oh to think how Beveridge would have enhanced the Saints coaching team. Hindsight is just that, but after watching some of the other 2015 draftees running around in the NAB, Gresham had better make a b...

Bottom four again me thinks, too many over rate our list which still has major gaps and weaknesses!

Re: NAB Match Thread v Roos
Does anyone else think Hickey lacks any lower body/core strength whatsoever? He seems to get pushed off the ball far too easily for a guy his size. With someone with legs like twigs, you would think he would would be smashing the leg work in the gym, squats etc. It has been an obvious weakness of ou...

Re: Modern Footy
They play the perfect game of 'keepings off'. When they win the ball the simply dont give it back to the opposition. Their backline work sublimely for each other to cut off them opposition forward thrusts. Every player does the team thing they are beautifully coached....

Re: Tommy Lee
Not big enough to play KPD and simply not good enough at AFL level. Last year of his contract will likely be plying his trade in the WAFL next season. Goddard gets first crack this year with Fisher. Only way Tommy gets a crack is if one of those 2 go down Thats a big statement - how do you know whe...

Agreed what I saw last week I would have him in front of Goddard and blokes like Fisher will have maintain there form to keep Tommy out of the team!

Re: Jaeger O'Meara
Strikes me as another Freeman story, he JOM thinks they Suns.buggered up his knee repair/rehab and he wants out. Gees if we go after him with big cash we would want to be certain he has a long playing future ahead...? The difference is we see him either play or don't play this season. I don't see i...

Re: Anyone else feeling flat about this season?
You know as much as our skill levels are an issue, my other concern is having enough players with some mongrel (win at all costs). We have Weller and I think McCartin will get there, but I would like to see more players who truly enjoy hurting the opposition. I think the better sides have several of...

Re: Who is going to Friday Intra Club?
Overall it was a pretty scrappy game which you expect from a warm up game on a windy ground. But it also reflects the pressure both sides put on which is Richo's trademark so far - there was no easy ball out there. Players were hitting packs really hard - no one shirked it. Acres - really stood out...

Re: Anyone else feeling flat about this season?
After watching yesterdays game I am concerned about our chances of improvement for several years. We are simply a team of developing kids running around who will be playing men. They have potential but we are like GWS as if we started 2 years ago. The other issue is our senior players are cooked. Ou...

Re: Rookie upgrade via Carlisle ban
Just did a bit of a search of possible mature agers fitting the bill and I dont think this lad was drafted. PAT LEVICKI Norwood, 23, 196cm, 90kg The powerfully-built tall defender impressed with his high-leaping at the SA state combine, registering a 91cm running jump and 76cm standing vertical jump...

I wonder if they have anyone in mind? You would think it would have to be a big key defender to replace Carlisle - but who?loris wrote:Saints have now joined Port Power in wanting the option of a top-up player. Say they may not use it but want the OPTION!

Re: Rookie upgrade via Carlisle ban
Ken Hinkley has a point with WHY should the clubs that didnt cause the problem be worse off than Essendope. After their concessions they will have 43 players, Port will have 41 & Saints 42. We should have the option bring someone in straight to the senior list be able to top up our rookie list (...

Re: the 2015/16 Recruits progress
It was pretty obvious that Bailey was no where fit enough for AFL footy, I reckon his skin fold tests would have been pretty average. The positive is that he has seen he needed to change and has done so with an improved look afrer Xmas.

Re: Ruck Training
If Hickey can get his knees right he will have a much bigger impact this year IMO. On another note a poster on BF said Lewi PIERCE sometimes goes to his gym and is just lifting 60kgs on a bench press..I know he has had back injuries but that is pathetic for a professional footballer, is it any wonde...

Agreed Bluthy - Robertson just isnt a contact player perhaps by midfield he means on a wing in his case?
