My "favourite" piece of "journalism": http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/afl-photo-storm-tortured-teen-in-a-blokes-world/story-e6frf9jf-1225974677673 One day in February, a few Saints stars visited a Mornington Peninsula high school to give a pep talk to VCE students just back...

I saw a fair few over 2 years and heard about many others. How in the hell were the Saints crying out for a tall spare parts player with no good form. No good form? Crap comment. In the best players 8 times last year (in 16 VFL games). Typically played on the better tall forwards (many of those wer...

Hmm not good. This is why Collingwood are up and about. By all accounts there is a load of pressure on the seniors to retain their spot with them. hence why they are jumping of their skins during a game. A hard working reserves side often means a better performing seniors side. I hope they get a bo...

Forward line does not function - Sautner doesn't leave the goalsquare, Walsh is not a natural forward (seems to go OK down back), Lynch is better suited down back, and Cahill & Archer haven't been at all imposing. Add the absences of JWS (who was playing OK), Armitage, Clarke, Hutchings (was pla...

Have posted a report on BF. Despite the 4 goal loss, and an injury to Stanley, there were a number of good performances by Saints players. Gardiner, Pattison and Lynch all very good. Raph and A. Smith were solid. Archer & Walsh got some invaluable experience in defensive posts, with Cahill getti...

It was hardly McPhee's fault. The umpire didn't even bother lining him up with the middle of the goals, so he started at least 5m round from where he should have been. The St Kilda player on the mark should have squealed like every other team does. On another matter, Milne was run down at a stop pla...

Fergie, Birss, Mini-Riewoldt (Jones), and Gwilt will need to be much improved to hang onto a spot after next year.

Many of you expect far too much from a back up ruckman who is fit and willing. We've gone for Brooks, Ackland, Doc Clarke, and Knobel in the past - so Rix has by far been the best value.

Skeptic you and few others have an agenda about Rix, But i strongly suggest you get yourself copies of games, and sit down and actually watch his play. Then and only then will you realise why he gets a game and Brooks doesnt. Cant tackle??? I have seen Rix run past Del Santo to run down the opposit...

A good reason in itself to get him up the ground. If you can remember the game v WC in 06 (when Goose broke his leg) Grammy played a far bit in the middle & was clearly our best player. He was giving a fully fit Judd a run for his money when he rolled an ankle, went off and WC kicked away. When...

One thing that is for sure is that we have a number of options to swing forward & assist Yapper in the small forward/crumber gig. Schneider/Bally/Dal/Joey/Banger with Bakes playing a defensive role gives us a nice rotation. Hopefully the emergence of Grammy & Armo as legitimate midfielders ...

If you are playing Baker forward, you are bascially guaranteeing Leigh Fisher a game every week? We've lost Attard, and need Baker in midfield or back. X was playing the defensive forward role, which I thought he was doing fine.

George Bush has to go at some stage - Gwilt is the man for the job. The Saints have continually given him jobs which are beyond him so what the hell. Back on FF (or is Gwilt playing there as well? Would have thought he'd need to get a game first), Sam Fisher came to the club as a forward and would l...

Rix has potential. Some games he is too quiet, others he is fercious and a great tackling-ruckman. I forget which game it was...think against the dockers or bulldogs, didnt pick up many possies, but his intensity and tackling was great. Wish he could just find his motor and keep it switched on, cau...
