Re: JLT 1 - Vs Port Feb 23
Seeing as P.A. have named a full squad I think our coaching panel would like to get a bit of an idea of how we stack up so we've gone with something close to our probable round 1 line up. The possibles will get a run against Carlton who'll also be wanting to try out a few newbies. I think its a good...

Re: Joey and the old man injury
Any of us past the age of 30 and who were still playing sport know how a calf injury can really take a toll. At 33 years of age and as a player who relies on his running, a calf injury preseason sounds warning bells I would think that he will be managed strongly this year and would play maybe 12-14...

Re: How Well Have We Done?
Some of the comments here are such dribble. Here are facts we loved Long. Bulldogs and Richmond are furious we took him as both wanted him with their next pick. We knew Florent and Galluci would be gone by our pick they were two we really liked. Powell-Pepper if he was there would have been a tough...

Re: How Well Have We Done?
Unlike the last few years the cards didn't fall our way this time around on draft night. There was no Blaine Boekhurst factor as Carlton got their ducks in a row for the first time ever and this years selections went much closer to the predictions made in the reputable phantom drafts than would usua...

Tough skillful inspirational captain... and a pathetic cheat... Will be principally remembered for the damage he has done to the game.

Re: Hurley!!!!!
I personally think it is very uncharitable to pillory someone just because their prediction turned out to be wrong. A couple of points need to be made in defence of the poster. The Saints were definitely keen on Hurley. I am sure they offered him a deal. At one stage he may have even given the impr...

Re: Dal santo
He'd be a fantastic pick up as a rookie. Still playing good footy... never wastes a touch. He plays an outside game which is not a role that wins you much admiration... a la Joey this year... but all the good sides have them. Still playing good footy... never wastes a touch, terrific clubman and a q...

Re: The Top 6
Harsh call on Membrey. 42 goals for the season as the 3rd banana. Currently 11th in the Coleman in front of a lot of high profile big names including Rioli Breust Johnson and Hogan who the media fawn over on a weekly basis. An amazing year and likely to get better with experience. AA in 2016 is not ...

Re: Hypothetical
Looking at this, you've got to ask...apart from Gehrig, Maguire, Kosie and Armitage (all due respect to others), what were we thinking??? Apart from taking Judas instead of Judd we really didn't do too badly from 2000-2010 IMO. The last few years have been slim pickings in terms of results but we w...

Who do we need to contact to get something done about unacceptable umpiring performances like today? Surely there is a way we can get our message across to the powers that be without leaving the club to take the fall?

Re: Saints digital membership - connect stream to TV?
Yes you can connect a tablet/iphone to a smart tv. Run a HDMI cable... cost $20-40 to a VGA adaptor $50... that hooks straight into your device. You can get a range of VGA adaptors at Dick Smith/ Move/ Apple stores. Picture quality is 6.5-7/10 if you have decent internet speed.

Re: WATTERS cant coach....
Contrary to Junction Oval I never liked Watters as a player and was hugely disappointed when he was made coach. He talks the talk but there aren't many signs that he has done much more than abandon a defensive game style for one that kicks a lot of goals but doesn't win any games.

Re: Congratulations to SW, CP and St.Kilda
This sort of list management doesn't deliver premierships! What it does is deliver quality players to other teams. The names Barry Hall, Luke 'Scumbag' Ball, The Wakelins, Dean Rice, Tony Lockett, Val Perovic, Brent Guerra ringing any bells? It's when you're on the winning end of the deal that there...

None of the other departures had the same effect as the loss of Plugger. I was gutted, absolutely gutted, when he was stolen from us. Also I always regretted that Nicky Winmar didn't end his career with us Can add Gilbert Mcadam and Adrian Fletcher to the losses. Grant Thomas too... Gilbert M...

A lot of those players listed played most of their careers with the Saints, only played a retirement role with other clubs, such as Nicky Winmar. Another player not mentioned that we did well with was Ken Shelton who played over 50 games with us and coached us into the finals. A team of losses... B...

Dempster stepped it up big time in '11 ... Farren Ray is 100% on the player he was at the dogs .... The Schneiderman will have racked up 100 games for us by the middle of this season barring injuries. Other successes that spring to mind... Tim Pekin - Fitzroy, Matthew Young- Hawthorn, Paul Morwood ...

As much as I love the G train, he was not a patch on john Macintosh. JM was an absolutely brilliant player who played wary 70s but was cut down after 50 or so games with. Knee injury ( in the days when it ended your career). He would have been our best player behind Ian Stewart at his time with us ...

Unfortunately those stats don't measure Maxy's heart size - think common concensus describes it as 'massive'.....and much as I like Max and dislike Scarlett - I think Scarlett has set the benchmark for a kid from out west to aim for - with a little bit of help for Max on the sidelines - sounds like ...
