Here are a few more details for you. I don't expect it to change anyone's opinion, but maybe there are some open minds out there. The Fremantle trainer saw the incident. He did not later change that to he didn't really see it, he added that he did not see the actual point of impact because it was ob...

I would love to see a full transcript of this case, because it would show how much of the hysteria has been whipped up about what journalists have said vs what the tribunal said. e.g. *Did the tribunal say they accepted Baker's version of events or they relied upon it in determining the case? I have...

The inference that Farmer was standing still appears to be filler by the journalist, his actual quote states he was watching the play but nothing about standing still.

Does the standing still bit come from something else said/presented at the tribunal?

The relevance is that what Baker did,is by no means excusable and never has been and never will be considered acceptable in our game. Excuse me Mr SplintersuptheAr$e, but what did Baker do exactly? The problem is that no-one really knows, Baker by his own admission was merely blocking Farmers run! ...

Mr Magic have you actually played football? Mr Splinterupthear$e Yes I have. Relevance? The relevance is Mr Magic (please note that I have the courtesy to address you correctly, and that the fence my name refers to is metal and has no splinters) that you should therefore know that what Baker did, a...

Mr Magic, you are as sharp as a tack mate, I posted that message last night. Are you using up all your spare time to follow my posts around? I was at the game on Saturday night and I was just agreeing with all the other posters about the need to get some more support at your games, especially agains...

Rodgerfox, the most obvious difference as I see it is that both players were considered to be actively involved in the passage of play. Hypothetically, if Baker had have been concussed in the collision - do you think Farmer should/would have been suspended? Hypothetically, if Baker had been concuss...

I think the thread was titled something like "Farmer was standing still when hit from the side".

I can't find it either but that doesn't mean its not there.

On the Fence (ala "sore balls"). None of your highlighted text is relevant to Baker's case. There is NO EVIDENCE to indicate that Baker, in applying his block, could and should have reasonably foreseen that his head would have made contact with Farmer's head and cause the damage that it u...

MrX from the West, with this fixation you seem to have on sore balls, you wouldn't be Daniel Kerr by any chance would you? Or did you snag your balls on the rabbit-proof fence on your way to the game on Saturday? You did go didn't you? Big claim that, speaking on behalf of everyone on the forum, wha...

If you were paying attention MrX you would know it was 2.

And describing this as crap after all the rubbish so called tribunal experts on this forum have spouted is ludicrous.

Straight from the AFL Tribunal's own handbook, with situation applicable to Baker's actions highlighted. 1.2 Other bumps to the head or neck A number of submissions on this subject supported a stronger stance against head-high bumps and clarification of what constitutes a reportable bump. In 2007, a...

Moan and bitch as much as you like. Try to explain how an orange is actually an apple, but this information straight from the AFL Tribunal's own handbook shoots your argument down cold. I have highlighted the clauses which apply to Baker's case in particular. 1.2 Other bumps to the head or neck A nu...

You guys should put an effort in this weekend or you are going to be outnumbered.

What a disappointment to see the poor turnout on Saturday at a game that was crucial to both teams. I was wondering if that made or cost the club money?

Because the initial act is not accidental, but the unwilled and unforeseen consequence is.

Consider youself shot down
So by that logic if I deliberately stick someone with a knife and accidentally pierce their heart I will no doubt get off the murder charge.

I would believe so, without a doubt. Actual footage showing the accidental head clash would surely have exonerated him Anyone care to explain how a player getting blind-sided by another with an illegal shepherd 50 metres or more off the ball can result in an "accidental" head clash? After...
