Jack Newnes will return after illness, with Ben Paton, Blake Acres, Bailey Rice and Sam Rowe named on the extended bench.
Jade Gresham will miss at least the next fortnight after fracturing his eye socket last week against Adelaide, while rookie Doulton Langlands has been sidelined with a groin injury.
Daniel McKenzie has been omitted.

Zebs have a bye...
I used to look at their squad to see which guys from our bench, were picked in their starting 18.
Can't do this week though

Re: Steven Hanners in
I’m not sure that they will need the 3 talls in the backline
Suspect Brown misses but comes back next week for casboult

Re: Steven Hanners in
There was a comment that they only go in with one “tall” in attack - noting Walters who is always BOG against us is named at CHF
So Brown may be on match ups - noting their interchange options include a tall forward
Clark, Coffield, Paton and Wilkie are putting the pressure on those who have been features of our support defensive selections during our most recent (barren) period
And after last week all of Long, Lonie, Parker and Hind are under real pressure - one saved by Gresham’s injury

Re: Steven Hanners in
I wonder whats up with Battle?
Started on the bench last week then it looked like he was playing a wing type role.
Named on the bench again this week, Newnes straight onto a back flank.
Before his injury, he was easily one of our biggest improvers this year.
I wonder if Ratts sees him differently to Richo?

Re: Steven Hanners in
Battle playing fewer minutes due to that knee strain?

I didn't think anyone even noticed the positions guys are named in these days.The_President wrote: ↑Thu 08 Aug 2019 8:09pm I wonder whats up with Battle?

I don't think the clubs actually name them in their positions, do they?

Cant see Rowe or Brown playing. Freo are pretty quick and like to run, so Sinclair, Acres and Paton should play with Battle for flexibility.
