Thought this might happen.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

Give it to Max.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

It's just number!!!!!
I'm sure Jade doesn't carry the burden of the Doc or Plugger every time he runs out!!!!!
Never seemed to burden Rooey running around in Shane Wakelin's number!!!!!
'Cause StoneCold Said So'!!!!!
We will be great again once Billy is back playing!!!!!

Re: No 12 maybe taken out of mothballs.
St Kilda should give draftee Max King famous No.12 worn by Nick Riewoldt
NOVEMBER 26, 2018
One of St Kilda’s greatest players, Riewoldt’s jumper has been in mothballs since the champion centre half-forward retired at the end of 2017.
But what an honour it would be if Riewoldt and the club offered it up to the club’s newest big man and lifelong St Kilda fan, King.
NEW NUMBERS: WHO WILL WEAR WHAT AT YOUR CLUB
DRAFT BOLTER: SAINTS SNARE SA GOALSNEAK
GARY BUCKENARA: WAS PICKING KING A BIG MISTAKE?
The 204cm goalkicker idolized Riewoldt growing up and, although they are yet to meet, Riewoldt will clearly take a keen interest in the No.4 draft pick.
King could learn so much from the six-time best-and-fairest winner, so why not give him his jumper as well? The baton has to be passed at some point.

If King and Riewoldt are happy with it, then it’s perfect. St Kilda fans will surely love seeing the No.12 striding back out from the goalsquare and slotting majors again.
Some may say it would only add extra pressure on King, but really it should be seen as a compliment.
And Riewoldt won’t want his guernsey stuck in the cupboard forever.
Shaun Atley wears Wayne Carey’s No.18 at North Melbourne, and Geelong gave Gary Ablett Sr’s No.5 to Nakia Cockatoo.
The romance of it all should go on, so the kids who wear Riewoldt’s No.12 can enjoy that excitement of seeing it back out there.
Max King posted a picture of his old Saints jumper on Instagram.
Nick Riewoldt’s No.12 has been in mothballs since his retirement.
King is a serious talent and could have gone No.1 in last week’s national draft if he didn’t suffer a knee reconstruction.
We think he will be a fine player, from everything we saw pre-knee reconstruction. He has been likened to Tom Lynch and Joe Daniher because of his speed, agility and skyscraping marking power.
The Saints envisage a twin tower setup with Paddy McCartin for the next decade, and as footy boss Simon Lethlean said on Thursday night, that’s something that worked a treat for West Coast.

Re: No 12 maybe taken out of mothballs.
Please give Max number 1. I still miss Barks and the heart he gave to St Kilda. Whilst Roo did the same, I think the #1 should be a much feted and sort after number Pecker tried his best and did not do it a disservice but time to lift it back to greatness. Give the 12 to Bytel or a youngster from last year.
Having said that, if Max takes 12, hopefully Ben gets 21 in 2021!

Re: No 12 maybe taken out of mothballs.
Yep give it to someone!
Even a Coffield would be nice.
Don't like numbers being locked up or saved except exceptional circumstances such as death. Then they should be permanently retired.
Give it to a mid if it creates too much pressure. Otherwise it's just a fresh number which starts a new journey be that good or bad.

I would have to say that Morris was a VG footballer and wouldn't he get some kicks today...would kill em. Re: No 12 maybe taken out of mothballs.
I am not convinced about the 12 number. Roo was almost our greatest player...certainly in the top 5. Maybe mothball it for a couple of years. Just my opinion. I think it should be presented after the new recruit has shown his wares.

Re: No 12 maybe taken out of mothballs.
Lethlean is showing how he likes to bulls*** and the gullible listen. He is a dud. Those two WC forwards have been virtually good players from day 1, one is a star and the other is not far behind him. Why make those stupid comparisons. I can hear the sniggers around the AFL from here. Why not say it as it is. Paddy has a shedful of work to do to be the saints leading goalkicker in 2019 and will be fighting to make the team even and King is still injured and may not play until rd 5/6 at best and that's at sandy....WTF....Don't mind the rest of your post.outside66 wrote: ↑Mon 26 Nov 2018 3:41pm St Kilda should give draftee Max King famous No.12 worn by Nick Riewoldt

My bad I doubt with the blonde hair & fair skin he is definitely not Greek !!! But I still have fond memories of Russell because he was saint & gave us what we needed at the time.
