Changes v Tigers

Post: # 1729580Post Jacks Back »

With Brown out for 4 weeks with a medial strain is this the time to bring in Austin, Clavarino or Goddard or with Richmond not having many talls maybe only Carlisle comes back as a tall down back (although he doesn't play too well on a player I don't think)?

If McCartin is fit is he actually up to it??

Out: Brown, Marshall, Armitage
In: Carlisle, McCartin, Paton

It seems to me like selection should be easy this week, as an obvious balanced side presents itself, but I'm sure the match committee will find a way to baffle us all yet again.

Out : Brown (inj), Armitage, Weller, Billings

In : Carlisle, Austin, McCartin, White

We are simply too short, both forward and back. Carlisle comes in to replace Brown. Austin comes in to provide the second tall down back. White comes in to allow Webster/Savage to go further up the ground, allowing Newnes to stay forward. McCartin comes back in as that vital missing key forward target and reduces the chance of Membrey being outnumbered.

Billings is in desperate need of form and confidence, he'll find plenty of that with a week in the VFL. Armitage sadly looks like he's at the end, and Weller continues to go backwards. When you've played forward all year and Jack Lonie comes in and doubles your goal tally in 8 minutes, your time is well and truly up.

Don't need an extra tall if Carlisle comes back, and White absolutely picked himself. Can't see any other changes.

So Longer comes back, or do we pick maybe Pierce,
with Acres back as well
to do the Jason Blake back-up ruck job?

Well said. It's very strange that they went so short last week. The only explanation I can think of is that none of the back-up talls are performing in the VFL and they don't want to bring in out of form players.

Billings is down of form and I have also wanted to see him go back to the VFL to find form, but I think just getting him out of the forward line is doing the trick. He has been a bit better in the past few weeks playing further up the ground. (21 disposals, 1 goal last week). I really want to see him work on his tackling and defensive pressure. It's way below standard.

As many debutant players as is humanly possible! Absolutely NOTHING to lose and maybe, just maybe, we may turn a corner in performances. In my humble opinion, we’re already facing a loss (going on current formlines for the two clubs) and more likely than not, a heavy loss, so why not roll the dice, selection- wise? But this is Richo we’re talking about

Acres won't be back for a few more weeks, Billy although in the best on the weekend is not fully fit, so maybe give Pierce a crack, carnt go any worse than Hickey!!!!!

Really?????

Is that what you think?????

Lost the hitouts(not he's strength), less possessions around the ground ( apparently he's strength), you need to reunite with your two old friends Curly, anyway each to their own!!!!!

We easily won the center clearances against a midfield of Pendlebury Trealor Sidebottom Adams Wells and Hickey had nothing to do with it. Go lye down mate and take a bex.

Your opinion Curly, your entitled to it, Hickey is a very average Ruckman at best!!!!!

When was the last time we won with him being first ruck?????

Tom is 27, has shown no improvement and has no physical presence what so ever, that's my opinion, do with it what you like!!!!!

I thought they stopped manufacturing Bex in the 70's-80's?????

Maybe zip down to Chemist Warehouse and get something more modern!!!!!

All the best to ya!!!!!

I seriously dont think Hixkey is in our top 5 main issues.
Grundy is in the best 3 ruckmen in the league.
Still prefer Hickey to Longer.

Its not a Hickey and Longer argument from my point, just stating Hickey is not good enough, simple (have a look at results)!!!!!

So, just for interest sake, who else is in your top 3 rucks????? Grundy, ?????, ?????

FWIW I don't think playing another tall would have stopped de Goey tearing us up. Expect we'll stay 'short' if Carlisle come up okay this week to replace Brown.

We would have been 4 goals up at half time if it wasn't for some clangers and turnovers which gave them the softest of soft goals. Hickey actually did what stonecold has been questioning him about. Hickey was strong in the contest. He actually outmuscled and outpositioned Grundy in that first half. Problem with stoney is that he won't concede, because that's not displaying a show of strength.... :!: :!: 8-) :!:
