Positives
Everything is so negative in this place. It’s so boring.
How about this.
We have two top 10 picks...plus pick 34 which could end up a very handy player.
Injuries going our way we could have 4 top 10s fundamentally debuting this season...7,8, paddy, freezer
Add in Logan and Goddard as additions to our defence...Robbo can move up the ground
We will have growth from within. I don’t see gresh, billings, acres, Dunstan, Steele et al going backwards
We can hit FA next year. Sloane, gaff, whoever.
It’s not the end of the world guys.

Re: Positives
A bunch of very very good players approaching their prime IMO
Lots of comments about "stalling" in 2017. I dont see it like that. 2016, many of our wins had Roo, Joey and Dempster as key players.
This year we transitioned and the wins were primarily on the back of the next generation.
Billings, Acres, Dunstan, Steele, Gresh, Sinclair were not totally consistent but all played big roles in various wins. With experience/age comes consistency. They have all shown they can do it. In 2018, they will do it more often
Really hope White can also have a big preseason and that Paddy can get a good run at it, and really contribute.
Freeman and Conellan the smokeys
And as stated, 2 single figure draft picks!
Lots to be optimistic about in 2018

Re: Positives
Billings, Acres, Ross, Gresham, Sinclair, Acres plus a couple from White, Paddy, Freeman.
That's where our positives and big improvement lies. That is 8 possible A graders.

Re: Positives
Yes, there are plenty of positives at the club and a lot to look forward. Been harping on it forever but patience will or may still be required with this team a bit.
I think a lot of players are ready to hit their straps and then you add in 2 x top 10 mids in the draft...there is a lot to like and look forward to again!
The new state of the art of Moorabbin will be massive for the club when it comes online. Don't ever underestimate the importance of this puzzle in the big picture of the club. It will be fantastic for the club, players and fans to have that spiritual home again. The Saints will be rejuvenated.

Re: Positives
Indeed, reasons to be excited:
Ross, Billings, Gresham, Acres, Dunstan, Steele, McCartin, Freeman, Battle, White, Membrey, Goddard. No reason why they shouldn't all improve a fair bit in 2018.
Carlisle will also be better in his second season back and we have two Top 10 picks.

Re: Positives
White showed a bit towards the end. I was surprised he was left out of the last couple of games. Connellan and Joyce showed signs at Sandy. Connellan especially has some wheels.
"Is this the right room for an argument?"
"I told you once."
"No, you didn't."
"Yes, I did."
"Listen, an argument isn't just the automatic gainsaying of anything the other person says, it's a series of statements designed to support a particular conclusion."
"No, it isn't."
"Oh, I've had enough of this."
"No you haven't"
"Oh shut up."

Yes, I agree strongly with the OP. Cool heads and strong nerve are the way to go. I'm excited, and also patient.
