Ladder Round 23
For a bit of fun have been playing around with the Ladder Predictor with various results
Our run home now is pretty good and whether we play finals or not should largely be decided by our games against the Tigers and Dees.
Tigers to just hang onto a finals berth
Pies should sneak into the 8.
Hawks to finish bottom 4 with a reasonable chance for bottom 2(Though my wishful thinking may be playing its part!).

Re: Ladder Round 22
every season the pies have the odd game where they look like world beaters - last year they took apart the giants at the business end of the season.

It is more that they have a very good draw from now on.

Re: Ladder Round 23
I think you can put a line through half the comp at this stage.
Brisbane, Hawthorn, Carlton and North Melbourne are well and truly out of it.
Surely Sydney can't make it from 0-6.
Despite flashes, Collingwood aren't good enough, likewise Gold Coast.
Fremantle and Essendon are much improved but shouldn't trouble many sides above them.
That leaves us as the only team currently outside the 8 with a chance of getting in. I think it's St Kilda, Melbourne and Richmond fighting it out for 7th, 8th and 9th from here.

Alittl off topic but someone quereid this in another thread the other day: when we play the Crows in Rd 12, it will be the 4th consecutive time we have played them away, and all at the AO! why is this permitted? we havent played them at Etihad since 2014

Re: Ladder Round 23
SEN's prediction was that the 8 was pretty much fixed with only St Kilda having a chance to replace anyone in the eight.

would agree - as predicted last season the saints and melbourne are fighting for north's old spot. port and tigers the unforeseen replacements for hawks and swans and should both make it.Sainter_Dad wrote:SEN's prediction was that the 8 was pretty much fixed with only St Kilda having a chance to replace anyone in the eight.

Re: Ladder Round 23
I'm very dubious of Richmond making the finals. I think they may have blown their load early in winning their first five games and it'll be all downhill from here for them.
Curb your enthusiasm - you’re a St.Kilda supporter!!

Agree. Apart from a hard fought win over WCE at the 'G, they've played Carlton, Collingwood, Brisbane and Melbourne. Their first outing against a genuine flag contender and they get flogged.Sainternist wrote:I'm very dubious of Richmond making the finals. Re: Ladder Round 23
I would not be making statements like this until after we play them and give a good account of ourselves (both Richmond and Adelaide)st.byron wrote:Agree. It's the AFL. What were you expecting? A level playing field?stevie wrote:Alittl off topic but someone quereid this in another thread the other day: when we play the Crows in Rd 12, it will be the 4th consecutive time we have played them away, and all at the AO! why is this permitted? we havent played them at Etihad since 2014

Re: Ladder Round 23
West coast over rated. Some hard games at home. Easier teams away... at places like the mcg where west coast would struggle against the little league.
Comes down to
- Saints
- Melbourne
- Tigers
- West Coast
3 spots.
