Someone on the site has pointed out (apologies can't remember who), copy the link and paste it into the Google search bar, then hit search and open the result. Worked for me today.
The game vs Gold Coast has finally made it clear that we need to move on from Roo as captain next season.
Clearly he is carrying a heavy load, battling injury and leading a fairly young team apart from a few notable veterans, many of whom have been unavailable in recent weeks.
The AFL website recently posted an article offering up four options, Armitage, Geary, Steven and Newnes.
I think the club should make a brave move next season and opt for a new young leader, Jack Newnes, now that he has established himself firmly in our starting 18.
Armo's best footy is probably behind him, given the way his body has deteriorated this season and Geary is just an honest battler let's face it.
Steven and Newnes are clearly the best players in that foursome, but Newnes seems to be more media savvy and intelligent and that is why I would opt for him to replace Roo, perhaps with Steven as his 2IC.
Thoughts?
its time to make a name for yourself like you've never made before!
Thanks Bratty. A really interesting piece, isn't it? I imagine the mood in the room this week will be markedly different but I am really encouraged that the structures in place encourage this sort of frank feedback.
Just finished reading that article, amazing insight. We on the outer don't often get a look at the inner workings.
I wonder how the review will go this week, especially Roo's poor 25m kick from a back pocket, and Joey's mistakes.
They need to drive perfection and keep doing it this way.
