Re: votes vs cats
5. Ross - future skipper
4. Weller - looks like superman sometimes
3. Roberton - stood up when it mattered down back. Was a General.
2. Gresham - probably won us the game.
1. Steven - Running machine. Scrapped all night. Never stops trying.
Honourable mentions/unlucky:
Hickey - immense solo effort rucking all night against 3 blokes. Had a huge impact on result.
Minch - 3 goals and 6 tackles.
Roo - Strong all over the park
Geary - Defended to the death
Newnes - Good all round game.
Delaney - Stood up when it counted. Not easily pushed around.
Paddy - competed all over the ground and took some very good marks. Looks dangerous. Took the best defender (Taylor).
Montagna - Good all round game.

Re: votes vs cats
5. Seb Ross - best mid on the field on the night
4. Leigh Montagna - best on ground in first half but faded a bit
3. Nick Riewoldt - took contested marks when we needed them
2. Jack Steven - provided good outside pace but his disposal was average and that last mishandle over the boundary could have been disastrous.
1. Jarryn Geary - his best game this year with no major stuff ups.
Other Tom Hickey, Mav Weller, Paddy McCartin (his best game for the Saints) and Luke Dunstan.

Re: votes vs cats
What a super super win. So many great contributors. I have gone with the following, with apologies to Dunstan, Newnes, Roberton,Montagna, Minchington , Geary and everyone else. Everyone had a go. Yes there were mistakes, including by those below, but the positives far outweighed the negatives.
5. Steven. Electric pace, breaks lines.
4. Riewoldt. Gut running, and super defence at the end.
3. Ross. Wonderful inside work.
2. Gresham . Amazing vision. GOTY. Rising Star.
1. Weller. Explosive.

Re: votes vs cats
We've got to find him some support. I mean some real support, not just little three minute cameos by Bruce.Hickey - immense solo effort rucking all night against 3 blokes. Had a huge impact on result.
I don't care if it's Delaney, Bruce or even McCartin. Hickey didn't give them a sniff in the first quarter and it was only when he tired that the Cats got going.
I'm all for Bruce, Paddy and Membrey forward, but it limits us to one regular ruck so we need to find ways to give Hickey a chop out

5 Ross
4 Steven
3 Weller
2 Hickey
1 Riewoldt
I thought Hickey was great. No stats to prove it though.
Would like to see 'score involvements'. I reckon he was responsible in some way for about half our goals.

Re: votes vs cats
5. Weller (massive intensity at the contest when the game was in the balance)
4. Ross (great first half especially and contributed hugely)
3. Steven (icing on the cake)
2. Hickey (did the right things when needed- a success story for us this season)
1. Acres (last quarter coolness under pressure helped keep us in it)
Gresham did class things, and one massive goal, but still developing
