A game to see where we're at
The crows are a great, albeit inconsistent, side.
In round 1 we silenced the crowd for 3 quarters until we ran out of steam and let a more experienced squad run over us.
If we are to win we we need big games from the defence. Eddie has historically been a thorn in our side, so we need a big game from Geary. The loss of Chips means that an inexperienced Hugh Goddard has a very big job ahead of him. If he can break even that is a win to us.
The game will be won in two places
1. Our midfield: Need another mammoth effort from armo, and good delivery to the forward line from the likes of Newny and Ross.
2. Our forwards line: Not only do we need to make the most of our inside 50s, but we need to keep the ball in and limit the end-to-end goals we have been hit with during this season. Big efforts from Members and Paddy required
If everything goes our way we are a shot, however the feeling in the back of my mind is another GWS/Doggies type effort unfortunately.
Either way I'll be right behind the boys. Go Sainters!

Today isn't about winning. It's about preventing a GWS/Dogs/WCE debacle that the media types seem
to forget. All they harp on about is how well we went vs Norf and Hawks. I guess that's PR hype

Next week is a true test to see where we are at. Are we 10th or 12th? That question will be answered.

At the start of season, most of us would have penciled in next week as close to a certain win. It's funny how quickly things change in footy.Con Gorozidis wrote:Next week is a true test to see where we are at. Are we 10th or 12th? That question will be answered.

Well the lack of injuries that has masked how bad we are going has well and truely ended.
If we had won against Hawks and/or north it would not have been a true reflection of where we sit.
Now it's time to see who will stand up when things get tough.
Hopefully some young guys can make the most of their opportunities

Where we are at?
= Yo Yo team very inconsistent in effort and concentration. and no way to predict which half of the Yo You we will see in any given week.

Looks more like 14th when looking at the ladderCon Gorozidis wrote:Next week is a true test to see where we are at. Are we 10th or 12th? That question will be answered.

If we win next week then the highest we can aspire to is 10th.Griggsy wrote:Looks more like 14th when looking at the ladderCon Gorozidis wrote:Next week is a true test to see where we are at. Are we 10th or 12th? That question will be answered.

Re: A game to see where we're at
bring Lee in, bring and play all the fringe boys to work out who goes who stays. season is shot i'd rather another top 5pick then an honourable 12th place. we're a mile off it yet.... midfield today looked non-existent. Paddy's getting better week to week, looking like our version of Hogan. i'm very excited about paddy has jason dunstall written all over him. guy get get moving on the lead and has super glue hands.
