If Sandy win the Premiership....

What would the flow on effects be for the Saints .Obviously the Saints players in that team will gain some confidence going forward but will it mean any more than that?

Cant see any other benefit all unfortunately. If it was our own club there could be a slight improvement in membership and an increase in crowds to our VFL and maybe AFL games thus a little more profit.

And another item in our sparsely filled trophy cabinet Image

A bit of extra currency for our fringe players who played well in the finals series.
Maybe a free agent who will be available next season would notice and think the Saints are a good option.

I'm more worried about what draft pick they'll get.

Confidence and morale. But they are both pretty important things in a footy club.

Would be a great reward for loyal stalwarts like CJ and then to a lesser extent TDL, Simpkin, (Curren) and Minch.

That's a really good point. I think it's great for those many guys we have on our list who are not quite good/tall enough to succeed in AFL to hopefully get a VFL premiership, which is the next best thing. We might even get something for them at the trade table!

By the way, now even I think Kosi has gone too far! I once got a warning from a moderator about bringing a complaint against a poster into an unrelated thread: i dont think that that mod was Kosi, but is that a rule that has some wiggle room? Unrepentant baiting!

Footscray's VFL premiership last year seemed to flow on to their AFL team pretty well.

The really successful sides have strength in depth, which usually gets reflected by having a strong reserves side. I am very happy with the general direction the club is taking!
